I've just completed viewing a video of Pastor T.D. Jakes giving his daughter Sarah Jakes the reins of the ministry. Such an emotional video, I must say. The portion of the video where the story of Sarah Jakes' trip is told is my favorite scene.
At one of the WOMAN THOU ART LOOSE CONFERENCEs, Sarah Jakes used her tale to introduce her father, which marked the beginning of that journey. She told everyone how her father had given her a second chance at redemption by allowing her to return to church with her little child. She claimed that several churchgoers and family members had a negative opinion of her and that she no longer wanted to go to church. However, she was able to escape the sorrow of her past thanks to her father's words of inspiration and bravery. ONE OF THE BIGGEST MINISTRIES OF OUR TIME IS NOW UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THAT BROKEN AND LOST GIRL.
How imperfect people want perfection from others of their sort fascinates me much. Many people have been transformed from BROKENESS to BEYOND SAVING by our judgmental attitude.
I think Sarah was just broken when she gave birth to her first child at the age of 14, and all she required was love, forgiveness, advice, guidance, and prayers. She was fortunate that her father, Pastor T. D. Jakes, made sure she received them.
Many teen mothers went on to drop out of school, work as sex workers, become drug addicts, and some even committed suicide. This is what rejection and unforgiveness do to people.
WHERE DO YOU THINK SARAH JAKES WOULD BE IF HER FATHER HAD NOT GIVEN HER A SECOND CHANCE?
Without Sarah Jakes, the world would have missed this gift that God had prepared. By rescuing one lost young girl, Pastor T. D. Jakes was able to save many lost and shattered women.
When you want to judge that girl, boy, woman, or man, please keep in mind that your lack of forgiveness and rejection could make their situation worse, and that Jesus didn't come to seek and find the righteous but to save the imperfect.
When Man fell in Eden, imperfection was infused into our genetic makeup. But Jesus' death and resurrection resulted in the salvation of mankind. Salvation is essentially a second chance to make a good impression. Therefore, it is wrong for anybody who trusts in Calvary's work of atonement to pass judgment on someone else.
Be a T. D. Jakes to them instead of the family and church members who nearly forced Sarah Jakes to flee her place of grooming and destiny. There are many Sarah Jakes in our society.
Remember that Sarah Jakes is a product of a second chance, which is a product of love and forgiveness as you honor her today.
LET'S MAKE GIVING PERSONS A SECOND CHANCE A NORMALITY.
Wow.... I didn't know this about Pst Sarah Jakes..
