The Universal Spirit of Festivals: A Blend of Cultures

There are many festivals in the whole world throughout the year, some festivals are big and some are small, we don't know much about the small festivals but the big festivals are celebrated with great pomp and show like Holi, Diwali and many other festivals are celebrated with great pomp and show in India but in foreign countries, Christmas, Halloween and other festivals are celebrated with great pomp and show. We see, there are very few festivals in many religions but if you talk about Hinduism then there are many festivals there. In India, some festival or the other keeps coming throughout the year because there are many religions here and every month, some festival or the other keeps coming, some festivals are very big and some are small. See, earlier here, Christmas was not celebrated with much pomp and show but now slowly the time is changing and when I see while coming from the office, there are many shops in the market which are sending Christmas items to schools and some people also celebrate this festival with great pomp in their homes.

See, I do not discriminate based on religion. I love all religions and respect them all. But see, everyone has their festivals and beliefs. Some people believe in them and some do not. Some people do not celebrate the festivals of their religion. Some people are atheists and they do not care about all these things. Christmas and New Year are celebrated with great pomp and show all over the world. And as you can see, there are only two days left for Christmas and people have started enjoying the holidays because this day is special for children and children wait for Santa Claus because he brings gifts for them. I have also seen this in many movies. See, children like to listen to stories. We entertain them by telling them a story and they become very happy when they get the gifts of their choice. And they also believe in those things easily. Yes, some children are very curious and ask a lot of questions. It becomes a little difficult to convince them.

There is a church in our small town too. When we were in school, we used to go there to eat cake. I used to go there often with my friends. Earlier, there was not so much crowd there because the population was less than, but the population is also increasing and there is a lot of crowd there. I have probably gone to the church only once when I was in school. I have not gone there since then. Earlier, there were not many restrictions on going there, but now boundaries have been made and now people can't go there without any reason. Earlier, only a few Christian families used to stay here, but now many people have changed their religion (that is their choice), due to which their population is increasing. School kids have a huge crush on going to church because they also get to explore new things and they get to see what culture others are they get to eat and drink there and this is what kids want.

Most of the clients of the company I work for are from us and they are all celebrating holidays and there is no guarantee that we will also get a holiday for a few days because nowadays the workload has increased a lot but still I feel that I will get a holiday for at least one or two days and I don't celebrate festivals that much so I spend most of my time at home with my family and friends. In my childhood, I used to get very excited whenever any festival used to come but now I am not able to bear it much, you can say that it has almost ended because as we grow up we don't like many things and we want to avoid the things that we don't like and maybe festivals are such a thing for me which I don't like, I used to like them in my childhood but now slowly I am losing interest in them. What about you ?
