See, at that time resources were also very less and as people could spend only on very limited things and online circulation was also very less then, money was also saved, everyone had different ways of using them, some people used to save some platform allowances or pocket money from which they used to buy something after a few months. Everyone had different hobbies and he used to spend them accordingly and looking at everyone he used to wait for things, just like when someone is employed on salary he waits for his salary to come, similarly children must have been waiting for their pocket money and announcements and they do wait for it.
Look, the decision of right or wrong is left to their parents because look, if you come to know that your children are misusing it and spending it on such things where they should not, then it is wrong in a way and you should stop them and pay attention to your children. If you feel that your child is doing some good things and from which he is getting benefit, then you should not stop him and should cooperate with him and if possible, you should help him also. There are many children who save their money and serve it and when the family members need financial help, they support them as much as they can. Everyone has a different perspective or a different way of spending money or saving it.
In our area, some time ago, probably when I was in school, the value of money was quite high and online things were not so popular then. Then I asked the grandfather of a boy that whenever his pension used to come, he used to give some amount to him and that money was not fixed, maybe it kept increasing with time, I don't know that much exactly and that boy did not spend that money, he used to deposit it in his nearest post office, which he did not tell anyone in his house, your family members used to think that maybe this boy was very happy with whatever money he took and how he managed it. See, if you keep any money at home or in your piggy bank, then you do not see any increase in it, but if you keep the same money in the post office or bank, then you do get some increase.
See, whether allowance should be given or not, it should depend on the parents or there is no rule because many children still do not get allowances and some children get it, it depends on the financial condition of their family, some people get very high allowances and some people get very less, everyone should think of doing everything for their children according to their financial condition because parents are the world of their children and they can do anything to make that world happy. There is no such rule, not here in India, I don't know about other countries and I feel that nowadays all the facilities are available to our children but still some money should be given and it should be seen how you should spend this money or how you should not spend it.
Children are a little ignorant and if you give them guidance towards happiness from childhood itself, then they learn and they understand what is wrong and what is right, what are the advantages and disadvantages of a thing, or they gradually understand about vegetables, so gradually we should make them develop the habit of saving or of new things and we should keep telling them about things gradually so that their growth continues.

Yes you said truly that if a kid does good things by his allowance parents should cooperate him. But if a kid do anything wrong with money parent should stop giving allowance otherwise the kid will never change himslf. It will destroye his future.
