Hello Everyone, Welcome to Bee’s World!
Recently, I asked myself a question, “How long can I stay without my phone?”, I honestly think our generation is glued to our phones. We are always on our phones. Even in a gathering, you find people on their phones instead of communicating. I am also a part of this. Most times, we claim to miss people so much, and then when we finally hang out, we are on our phones 90% of the time.
Our phones are important, especially since most people's phones are their source of income, and they need to keep up with communication. Regardless, I think there should be a phone ban on certain occasions. If there is one thing I love about my family is that, my dad made a rule against using phones while eating.
Some people might say that the banning of phones is an infringement on one’s right, but we should understand that the setting is a family. And the phone ban isn’t neither permanent nor imposed and for no important reasons. This phone ban is only done so that there should be family time, alone with family, so there are no distractions and we get to enjoy the company of our family and have phone, for a specific time.
Most people can’t even have a meal without having their phones alongside, either watching a movie or chatting, but not at my home. In response to the prompt, I agree with the fact that phones should be banned during a specific time in the day, especially in a family.
Whenever I start building a family, I will ensure to put in this rule and I do not think it’s an infringement of rights. It is a time for bonding with your family members. Talking about things, sharing common interests, seeing movies, and even playing games. This would bring in love, care, and unity.
There are families where the only time they get to have a conversation with their siblings is when they need something, there’s no bond, everyone is home, in their rooms on their phones. Less time for communication. I also feel banning phones at some specific times to have a family bonding time could also reduce depression. There are people in some homes who are depressed and no family member knows about it. Simply because they rarely have time to gather to have fun and do things together.
If there’s one thing I love whenever I am with my siblings is that we make time to bond, we talk about old memories, share some inside jokes, and let our phones breathe while we catch up on good times.
I sometimes get questions like “why is it that whenever you go home, you are rarely online” Well, as long as my siblings are around me, I forget about the existence of my phone. That’s because I was brought up in a family where we put our gadgets aside and spend quality time together. So I think that phones should be banned at specific times and it is no infringement of rights.

Phones should be banned so that bonds between family will grow. When we are always on our phones, we won't connect with the people close to us. A lot of the problems we face today are because people are scared not to infringe on the rights of others, but where has that gotten us?
