Yuletide As A Child Remain The Best

The Yuletide season is an experience with so many memories of moments we spend with our families and loved ones as a whole.

There is no year of celebrating the Christmas and New Year season that would pass by without it carrying the memory of its own, which will always be different from the past year no matter how little but memories when I was a kid were my best experience based on the fact that I had nothing to worry about but to just have everything set in place for me and anyone who had a great childhood experience would have a similar experience to mine.

Back in the days when I would start dreaming about my Christmas dress that has been neatly packed inside my mum's big travelling bag which she has packed all the things we will be needing as clothes for the holiday season in our hometown.
Every year, while I was still little, my mum, my siblings and I would travel to our village In osun state to spend the holiday with our grandma, grandpa, aunts and uncles that also reside in the village. It is always an annual tour of visiting families of both distanced and close relations.

Speaking of this makes me remember a particular holiday we went for where I had so many fun filled memories. We visited some special relatives, moving from one place to another and the first person we visited the day before Christmas was an uncle who was a hunter and he had just arrived from hunting that day but we were about leaving when he arrived and he had to give me the bird he had roasted and kept in his store since he knew I loved meat and believe you me, the taste of the bird was wow maybe because that was my first time of eating it.

I only just didn't know the name of the bird he gave me to eat though if it were to be now as an adult, I might be thinking I was about eating something even when my mum and siblings were also there.

We visited another relative whom we've always been talking to on phone call but we never had the opportunity to meet in person. After so many conversations, my twinnee and I were given 2 big live chickens, ready-made gowns and many other gifts which made us happy as kids.

My grandma is the highest on the list of those who would always make Yuletide season a fun because we would always eat pre-breakfast and breakfast before brushing our teeth and bathing simply because there is harmattan 😂 and my mum would always shout about our teeth turning yellow if she continues treating us this way. Sincerely they are memories that keeps bringing smile to my face right now as I keep remembering them.

Though there might be more matured memories and fun as an adult for these seasons, but Yuletide spent as a child was still more of a fun to me and gave me outstanding memories than when I became an adult and have many things in my head to worry about.
