Extracurricular Activities Of A Teacher

Teachers are extremely honored and known with so much dignity, respect and are always accorded so much honour. I could say this based on the kind of treatments teachers get during my time as a teenager in secondary school or little child in primary school.

You would see some children even scared of their teachers more than they are scared of their parents because of the strict discipline that our teachers are known for though I can only speak for our own time then when teachers are not restricted to disciplining students or pupils, teachers are not confined to just verbally scolding students because of the rule of not touching a child when it is vividly vivid that stubbornness lies in the heart of a child and only cane can chase it out according to the scriptures.

But you know, in this era that we are where many rules have been modified, giving teachers less interventions in the affairs of their students even within the school premises let alone talking about outside the school environment.

However, if I am to basically talk about if teachers should be able to partake in the affairs of student outside the walls of schools, I would definitely say YES. Why? Because teachers are the next in line after our parents. They take vital roles in grooming a child's life and no matter how little or poorest an education of a child is, he or she will still pass through the hands of a teacher.

Funny enough, most children spend more time with teachers even than the parents who gave birth to them and most of the discipline and scolding they get are mostly from the school and from their teachers precisely.
Now let's say such kids were seen outside the school premises by a teacher, gambling with WHOTS cards amongst their peers as we all know how these students can be at times. When they are out of money for gambling, they proceed to their possessions with the hope to win.

In this kind of situation, the teacher has the right to interfere, intervene and stop this act and if it were to still be the kind of world when I was still a student, then the sight of the teacher from afar would dismiss such gathering of illicit act.

Unfortunately for the teacher, it may be all these hoodlums in the flesh of students that she just stumbled on which may lead to been ambushed by them especially if it's a female teacher of which I wouldn't even advised that she shouldn't interfere if it's a silent place cos safety matters a lot and some damages are not always reparable especially when it has to do with life.

Anything aside trying to take life precautions, teachers should have the right to look out for their students in discipline or in other forms either within the school premises or outside. They are the second category of parenting and grooming children or let me say caretakers and shouldn't be deprived of doing the needful. The only precaution in this might just be not upgrading the intervention as an abuse.
