Government is what you are supposed to call and there should be a lightening in the sky, with a great sound that shakes everywhere like there is about to be an earthquake. This is how powerful their impacts are on both the rich and poor no matter how annoying it may be to the poor and how enjoyable it may be to the rich. Their impact stays strong with no doubts or second thoughts.

Looking through the policies that government has ever brought in place for citizens, it has never been for the poor or in the favour of the poor masses. In fact most benefits they announces on the air are basically just for the show-off to the general public to have the mindset that opportunities are coming out but secretly, it has been occupied by their own, whom are those in power and the rich who can buy the opportunities with their money or through connections.
In my part of the world as a country, you would hear that the government is sharing some incentives to reduce poverty but rarely will you see 20% of the poor masses benefiting from these things. The little masses who are able to be beneficiaries are then captured as a form of media report to show that they did share the incentives to the intended beneficiaries.
A government who never initiated something to benefit the citizens to reduce the power of poverty battling with them or struggling with their businesses to be able to find their ways up but this so-called government could introduce Tax reform to powerfully get reward from where they've not worked in.

A friend of mine working in a media and broadcasting station was telling about an opportunity open to all students who studied petroleum who are meant to get 100% scholarship abroad with full expenses of return ticket but the question now lies in the fact that, how many masses will indeed benefit from this? And that's why in this country, the poor will remain poor unless by striving to rise while the rich will continue to be richer.
Whatever comes out from the government pocket tends to be for the rich and this has also made the poor masses become a shadow of themselves, being caught up in mischievous acts that they were not known to be before.

Just like a story or news I read online about a man who was credited with a billion+ naira and by the time they would be able to retrieve this money back from him, it was some amount above 800million naira only they were able to get back and at the end of the whole case in court, he chooses to spend a year in prison as a convict than paying back the 200million+ he claimed to have spent from it.
This is how worse the whole situation has become, for people to rather decide to be an ex-convict at the opportunity of getting rich than choose to protect their names and image from being damaged.
Can I blame them? No! Because even the government failed the people they are governing over so how will an individual not fail themselves.
I wish times would go back to when government and leadership was about the people and not biased on some set of elites. I wish there could be a slightest empathy for them to know what the masses are passing through. If only they didn't forget how they promised heaven and earth before getting into power.

The thing is our government needs to do better. It's actually the rich just getting richer here. Not making sense at all.
As if they don't know the better but they won't just move close to it
Our government is so corrupt...they know quite well that they are wrong, but they do not care for the masses
Care is not even in their recycle bin let alone considering to retrieve it someday
