Hello beautiful friends. Welcome back to my blog. I will also like to use this opportunity to say a happy father's day to all the amazing father's in the house. God will bless you all 🙏🙏🙏
Voting for now is a no, no for me because of what is happening in Nigeria. I have tried to encourage myself to continue, but the more I want to, the more the system is getting bad. I don't think I am ready for it right now because I want my peace of mind.
VOTING YOUR CHOICE
I believe that this is what democracy is all about. What the people want. Who they people went. But is just written down in our constitution, but never implemented. Just like the topic for week 223 episode one is suggesting. Should we encourage people to vote for the candidate of their choice or should a candidate be imposed on the people. I will only be discussing this topic in relation to what we are experiencing in Nigeria. But before then, for me I believe the people should be allowed to vote for their candidate no matter what. This is one of our human rights as enshrined in the constitution. Candidates should not be imposed on people wether they want it or not. This should not be the case.
Coming to Nigeria, what we see every time there is election is not what we want. We actually go to cast our votes on the candidate that we want. But at the end of the day another person who has money. Who has connection and who has influence will be given the position and there is nothing we can do about it. Infact the INEC is even the body behind all of these and they contribute alot to making the wrong candidate get what he should not. Even when people go to court, there is nothing that would be done about it because every system in Nigeria is already bought with money. So no matter how people cry and say they don't want the person, nothing will be done about it. This is just the level that we are right now.
CAN WE SIMPLY TELL PEOPLE WHO TO VOTE?
In a way this is a very good idea, but that won't work because everyone has the right to choose who he wants. Believe you me, even if this person is the right candidate, some people will still not vote him or her. Everyone has that right and is not good to take that right away from them. The only thing I know that we need to do is stop voting people in because they gave us money to do so. When people buy our votes and gets into power, they won't work for us because they bought the votes. They will only work for their money and even interest before considering the people they represent.
In conclusion, no body should be imposed on peo. Everyone should exercise his or right as humans.
The electoral system in Nigeria is already damaged and corrupted. Thanks for sharing.
I agree 🫡 that no candidate should be imposed on the people. Democracy works best when citizens are free to choose and when their votes truly count.
