Hello beautiful souls. I want to use this opportunity to say to everyone here - Happy New month. This happens to be my first post for March in this community.
The topic for episode 1 for week 207 in hive learners community is a very interesting one. One that demands to know if we have good or bad president either in the past or in the present. Someone that we can remember for something very specific. Well in my country we have had lots of them. Both the good and the bad. Currently we are going through a face because of the kind of government we have, but I choose not to talk about that because I don't want to waste my energy talking about something negative. I decided no to because it will bring only bad energy to me and also yo everyone reading. I have told myself that I only need good and positive vibes in this season. I don't want anything that will spoil my mood too.
Let's get down to the topic of the day. Aside other presidents we have had in Nigeria for decades now I will love to talk about our former president Olusegun Obasanjo. This is a man that when he came to power he transformed alot of sectors. I know that by then I don't really know much about rulling a big country like Nigeria, but from the little that I gathered he did his best.

MY BEST PRESIDENT
Before president Olusegun Obasanjo came I remember that teachers were not well paid and so many students then never wished to go into the teaching profession because when they look at their teachers, there is nothing attractive about them. So back then everyone wants to be an engineer, banker, politician, lawyer, pilot, architect and all the good names we can remember. But no one wants to be a teacher. In fact even some already in the teaching profession went there not by choice maybe because there was no other options available.
When president Obasanjo came, the first thing he did was to make sure that teachers are well paid. According to him teachers are the ones that needs to be paid well because they are responsible for producing great doctors, lawyers, engineer and the rest. He said that if teacher are not paid well then they can't do their job very well. I remember that primary school teachers were paid #18,000 back then and it was taken to maybe #36,000 or there about. I remember so many teachers were just celebrating because at that time our naira still has value and with #36,000 you can take care of twenty people very well in your family. That president really tried and I could remember that he did that not only for teachers but for other sectors too. With all of these it seems impossible to forget a man like him who put a smile on everyone's face during his regime.
LEADING A GOOD LIFE FOR OTHERS TO FOLLOW
I believe that it is good for us to show others the right way to live by living by example for them. President Obasanjo gave us a very good example and I am super proud of him.
