PARENTS ROLE IN THE LIFE OF A GROWING CHILD

Kids are very special and it takes God's grace to help them become who they ought to be. They have their own mind and sometimes when you allow them all by themselves, the result will be very bad.

Should we allow kids to have their privacy? Do we really think that it is a good idea? Hmmm! It all depends on what we want to achieve with them or for them.

For this week 185 episode 2. Talking about wether or not children should be given some privacy. I will give my response based on my experience as a mother who have stayed with children for more than twenty years now. Children have stages in life. There is this stage where they need you as the parents all the time and won't even allow you have space for yourself. As from the first day that a child is born up till the first eight years in their lives, they need you around. They don't want you to get away from their sight. They want to ask you all the questions they have in their head. They want you to teach them how to do everything that you do. They want to follow you around and watch you in every step of the way. At that stage of their lives, they think that parents are super humans. They believe so much in you and don't care about what others say about you. All you do is fine for them. Even when you consistently lie in their presence, they believe is the right thing to do.

THEIR TEEN AGE
By the time a child gets to 9, 10 up to 11 and 12, you will discover a change. There will be questions in their hearts and some of them may think at that time that you don't know enough to teach them again. Especially when they get to their teen age. This is the age that they will prefer to be far away from you as the parents. They may prefer to learn from outside. Maybe friends and at this junction, they begin to have influence from their friends. I know that it seems that they need privacy at this time, but we can't also allow them to be on their own because of their naiveness. Their minds is still too tender to make the right decision. They still need your guidance even when they won't admit it. I believe that we should allow them at this point have some privacy yet we monitor them from afar. We can do this in the place of prayers. Sometimes I take charge of my children's life through prayers. I ask God constantly to help them and also show me what they are up to. Some of them get surprised when I walk up to them to tell them what is happening to them currently. I do most of them in the place of prayers because they won't let me in. They want to be on their own and I just let them be, but keep praying for them and encouraging them through the words of God. By so doing I have seen God control them for me and make them do things I can't make them do on my own.

THE PLACE OF PARENTS IN THE LIFE OF A GROWING CHILD

Parents have alot to do in the lives of their children. They can't overgrow us. We still have a say in their lives, but most times we do it in the place of parents after we have spoken to them. Sometimes they pay attention and sometimes they don't want to. Either ways, we need to learn how to pray for them all the time and never give up on them.
