Life is full of ups and downs. We can not get good things all the time because that is how God plan life to be. Sometimes when something good happened we rejoice and even go to church to testify of what God has done or what he is still doing. But what happens when we are faced with difficult situations, we quickly blame everyone around us and even sometimes we blame God for not coming at the time we expect him to.
Man is so full of drama. But on the other hand God has been patient with us. Right from the beginning, we are insatiable. We can't never say enough. We just want more everyday. We keep asking for more and when we don't get what we want, we become sad and ask quarantine. For this week 205 episode 3. I want to share what I have experience in the city where I live. One bad and one good. Though there are a lot of bad and good things that have happened, but I will only pick one each and share with the house. Maybe when I have another opportunity to share I will bring us the rest that I won't be able to share in this post.
SOMETHING GOOD
I live in Akwanga, Nasarawa State of Nigeria. This is a city very close to the state capital which happens to be Lafia town. In lafia there has been one development to another and when ever I enter that city I wish that I can relocate so that I can enjoy all the good things there. They have good roads in the town and also in all the street roads inside the town. There is also street lights that makes it easier for people to move around in the night and do their business with or without NEPA light. But coming to my city which is Akawnga, no development is coming to us. People have talked to the chairman of the local government and all that we get is promises upon promises. I have lived in Akwanga for over 30 years and for the first time since I came there there is construction of new roads with fly over. We also have double lane which helps reduce the amount of road traffic or even accidents in the city. We also have a new market that have been constructed by the governor. So today when people get to akwanga town it looks new and different. This is actually a good news for us living in the town. It has given us a new shape and also brought investors to our town because people don't go to invest their money in a place where there are no good roads.
SOMETHING BAD
Last year march I was moved out ofy shop and we were told that there will be reconstruction in the shop. The person that owns the shop sold it to someone else and the person asked us to pack our things out so that he can fix the shop to his taste. He told us that it will take him four months to finish. We were seven occupying the seven shops there and we all moved our things out and waited for the whole of last year and te shops were not completed until 3rd week of January this year. The owner called us to come for the shop and when we went he increased the shop rent times ten. Formally we pay 40k yearly and when he finished he told us that each person will pay 400 k for one year and it is compulsory for we to pay for two years making it 800k. Sadly he gave us 6 hours to raise the money or lose the shop. So we couldn't raise the money within those hours and the shop was given to someone else. In all these I give God all the glory because when there is life there is hope.
It is really difficult to move from an already established business to another site ..
I am really happy about the road construction. Akwanga has really changed. And the rate of accidents has reduced.
Sorry about the shop issue, the heart of man can be really evil. 400k is way too much, it's not as if it's something that you can make within a short period when you finally start using the shop.
The heartless increase of house or shop rent these days is something else, and I feel the government should regulate this things around the country, so many agent and landlords are just not reasonable. Well I know how difficult it is go change environment especially this season of hardship im Nigeria. Indeed when there's life there's hope definitely. @adaezeinchrist
I’m glad your community is being developed with time but that landlord , is the no way to report him for that exorbitant price. We all know he’s trying to cheat you in broad daylight.
That’s bad but yes, I believe the best will come. Why does he expect 800k to be raised in six hours? That’s wickedness but God knows best and will give you a better one.
