A special moment for the family this holiday.
Christmas Holidays are always and will always be the best for me because I look forward to a family parked to the brim with everyone around me.
The joy of a mother knows no bounds when her children are around her especially if the children are already matured and can help with all the work at home. I have been suffering since January when four of my grown children left the house for school. Though I am so happy for them because everyone is pursuing his destiny but looking at it from another angle is not been easy for me at this age to start washing plates, sweeping the house and also making food for the rest of the family members.

Some of our men are really African to the core. Kitchen is a woman thing from the philosophy and a complete man should not be around the kitchen helping out with chores. My husband is that kind of a man. If you ask him what he thinks about a man always helping his wife in the kitchen, he will tell you that is okay that the man should help with whatever he can, but doe him to put that into practice is a very big problem. I have seen and also heard him counseling couples on how a man should be there for his wife even in the kitchen, but when it comes to him he does not practice what he preaches most times. Infact I will have to come to him to draw his attention to the fact that I am the only one handling a lot of responsibilities in the kitchen before he will rush to help. Apart from that he won't just stand up and come to the kitchen to help.
That has been the situation at home. So when my children are not around it becomes so busy for me doing house chores. That is the reason why I always look forward to the Christmas break or holiday when all the children will be around to help out.
Another important thing that makes me want them around is because my husband is also not the talking type. He will always be on his phone when he is at home and will hardly engage in any conversation that is not about Biafran and I am not a fan of Biafran issues. I just want to live my life without having expectations that will give high BP. There stories are just too much and I am not in for it. So when my children get back I have this particular baby girl who loves to gist with mummy and that gives me joy. She understands what I want and she makes sure that I am okay. When she goes out and she is coming back she will get me lots of good Nigerian movies that will entertain me at home. She also take her time to listen to me and tell a lot about herself and insist that I pray for her. That keeps me alive and that is the more reason why I am also happy that every holiday they are around me to cook, wash clothes, clean the house, listen and pray with me, spend their money on me most times.
I WILL DEFINITELY ENJOY IT FULLY
Even though they are students, but when they come back they come home with a lot of good things. Sometimes from their pocket money they buy food stuff and even perfume for myself and husband. Is really worth it seeing them working so hard to make us proud. Ladies are always different from the men. While the men will always want you to send money, the ladies are saving from the little you sent them to buy me good things when coming back. But men, hmmm! They come back empty handed hahaha 😂😂😂.
