Every day surely comes with unique challenges. This is why we keep planning and working towards having a fruitful day. If we could foresee what our tomorrow would look like, then I think no one would rather stress themselves out worrying about what the future has in place.
But the uncertainty about what will happen tomorrow keeps us concerned and bothered. Another interesting part of life is how fast time flies. We live in a world where time keeps moving at a faster pace. A child born yesterday might turn out to be a grown-up in just a few years. Then we began to wonder, was this not the little boy I was carrying on my arm yesterday? Today, I can't try anymore.
Just like yesterday when we were wishing each other a happy new year. It was the end of 2024 and a new dawn of 2025. Everyone started giving their yearly accomplishments and also getting to resolve for the new year.
I can’t say 2024 was a bad one, but the challenges got me stronger. It came as fast and left. But I also had a good time with it. I was able to accomplish some goals I set for the year though many of them didn’t come to pass. Then I guess I will have to make up with them next year.
The switch from 2024 to 2025 was just like every other day. Nothing changed as such. The sun rose and the moon glowed. But the difference was just in the counter. We started another countdown to another 365 days of our life again.
Q1 of 2025
My first quarter (Q1) was okay. It brought about its challenges and accomplishments too. I have to face most of them head-on. But in the end, I am grateful I had something meaningful out of it.
The first was on the aspect of my personal life. I have been trying to build more of my self-confidence and also trying to give myself more care. If I don't care for myself then who will?
I took up the challenge of having a daily routine for my self-care and also tried to avoid stressing myself too much. Just two weeks into the new year I got so sick that I couldn't even move my body at all. So it taught me that no matter what, health is totally important.
Next was my financial life. I have tried to make sure I keep up with my finances. Spending on priorities and also refraining from unnecessary spending and debts. The most important thing was my business. I am still at a growing stage. So I need to pump in a lot of funds into the business.
Challenges as a business owner, I had to face a lot of failures this first quarter and it drained me financially and mentally. I had to make a shift in the production of fish I breed. I had been conversant with a particular type of breed over time. But there was low market demand for it last year. So I decided to make the switch.
I took it as a part of my plan for the year. The first two months were full of failures. I overspent beyond my budget and almost went broke, then I just had to take it as my error and a learning phase. The metamorphosis won't come as easily. Last month I was able to get a hold of my first trial and it became a success.
As for the Q2 of this year, I am focusing on producing massively so I can recover from my past loss. And also to become a perfectionist in the field. I pray God help me out.
This is my response to the HIVE LEARNERS weekly prompt in the hive-learners community for the Week 161 Edition 1 and the topic to be discussed is THE FIRST QUARTER
No worries, business takes time to built, you are doing good by giving time and money to your business. with the passage of time, your losses will start to turn into profits and you will forget all these years of hard ship.
Starting a new business can be challenging especially when you're all alone in it. But in due time, it'll get better. There's more quarters to come.
I have always wanted to dive into fishery but I'm always too scared to try. I mean I don't want to learn from my errors, which kind of seems like the only way people in this category of business become professionals. Learning from losses is never a pleasant experience.
Exitos en tu empeño. 😘
