It is no news that many people are making money from content creation in the media nowadays. This is due to the monetization that was added to it. No doubt, it's still a source of living for those who know what they are doing.
I remember sometime around 2017/2018 when Facebook started adding reels to its page. A lot of people quickly embraced that moment to create and showcase their talents. I told my friend back then that we should also start skit-making, but we never had the requirements to start. I also thought about the long run. What if we are not together anymore? Then it's the end.
Back then was when Cute Abiola, Taoma, Twyce, Ade, and brother shaggy came into light. They might have started without getting any pay. But in the long run they built a name for themselves and then gradually achieved their goals.
We might think it's something easy to do. Is it not for them to just hold the camera and start recording? Ooh. Only if you know how many times they have to repeat a scene before they can come to perfection. Now they are in money. And no one has to blame them or the media for it. They deserved it.
I was still a fan of most of them not until the moment I realized that even apart from the money they get from the media itself, they started devising other means of making money too. Are they taking me for a fool? 😂
Most of them get a higher percentage of their money from adverts and brand ambassadorship. This is when they get paid by brands or individuals who deserve to promote their products or names. So one way they could do that is to make use of the wide range of viewers the content creators have, and then they pay them.
In return for the payment, the content creators started making their content online with the advert they got paid for. Some will do it well that you will actually like it but some will just make it obvious and boring. So ever since then, I came to the conclusion that I don't really have to waste my resources on all of these contents. Instead, I should channel that energy somewhere I will also get paid in return.
That’s how I paved my way towards some online platform where I can also get monetized for my activities instead of wasting my time and resources on what won’t help me out.
There is nothing bad In monetizing media, it serves as a source of motivation and encouragement to the users. But alongside it had brought about a lot of disadvantages too. One of the disadvantages is that we can hardly find real and legit content. Not even only on social media, but any platform that pays will surely experience this.
I remember a time I was on Uptrennd, a platform that rewards its users for their blogs and vlogs. Notwithstanding how strict and rewarding the platform was, some users tend to abuse the system. Instead of making good blogs they just rush in, type three words and a picture, create a reward cycle, and milk the system.
In conclusion, it's not the media that monetizes the content we have to blame, but the end users who get paid for it. The media should just try as much to regulate the type of user and the level and standard at which users have to attain before they can start getting paid.

I agree with you: it is not the platforms that make the mistake, but the same people who always seek the way to get more benefit and usually abuse traps, bugs or things like that. What happens with this is that they end up damaging a good way of working because they squeeze it to the maximum, doing this that website or sites like Read.Cash become unusable or stop receiving sponsorships. I have seen many good sites where simple online tasks were done such as those of tags in photos and similar things, which have been abused and we have all finished losing that source of income, many times due precisely to those influencers that are dedicated to promoting those bugs or traps.
I've given up social media for a while, because I don't get anything out of it, I just waste my time. Uninstalling instagram was the best thing I ever did. I use my time to be here at Hive, at least I get rewarded and consume content that adds value most of the time.
Sending Love and Ecency Curation Vote!

You're right, users should be regulated for viewers sanity
Monetisation is good, but how some people uses the media to make money is the problem, if fake news, defamatory ones and the likes are prohibited or not paid, I'm sure many would abstain from them.
I admire your perspective. Some end users tend to abuse the platforms
