It's no doubt that nowadays we have the media all over, we have uncountable people from different parts of the world coming together on media and then reaching out to each other with just their device at hand and data subscriptions to come online.
We all have the right to express ourselves in the media as much as we want, but there are surely limits to the level of expression. Even the media have their terms and conditions then when it's not adhered to, they have the right to take action on the account of the individual who had violated the policy.
Gone were the days when just a few people had access to social media. In recent times, even the kids that were newly born are ready to have an account if granted the opportunity to.
So every sector has realized how positively and negatively the media could impact their company or organizations. They create handles to reach out to a lot of people and also get feedback from them. We also have the section of influencers too, they are there to showcase or advertise products through their massive followers. Then the politicians and federal body are also in the media, and lastly, we have each individual.
Just like we have it in the real world, we also have it in the virtual world. We step on each other, offend ourselves and sometimes render assistance and help to each other. I have seen a lot of people receive unexpected help through the media, and it had a positive impact on their lives. In the same way, I have also seen some people receive backlash from the media and it also impacted their lives too.
I am not so much into news updates but I remember recently that the popular Nigerian singer named Portable got himself in trouble and was charged to court because he harassed the government officials on social media. I can't say in-depth about the issue, but it surely affected his influence on the media and in his personal life too.
So if institutions and schools should ban or dismiss their workers or students from the institution just because of the opinions they shared in the media, then it has to be dawned on for some important and tangible reasons.
Before they could do so, then the institution should have been rest assured that the worker has their brand or somehow got attached to their bio, the name of the company or institution which could thereby bring negative consequences to the institution.
So with this, there should be an agreement between such institutions and their workers that the name of the institutions should not be added to the worker's account, and if it should be added, then there should be some rules and policies that will guide to avoid such occurrences happening.
When there is a rule and they fail to abide by it, then the school or institution has every right to take action against such since the reputation of the institution and everyone in there is at stake.
This is my response to the HIVE LEARNERS weekly prompt in the hive-learners community for the Week 171 Edition 3, and the topic to be discussed is SOCIAL MEDIA CALL-OUT.

This your picture got me laughing. Social media police.๐๐
I mean it just makes sense for everyone to do the right thing on social media but some people are so psychotic so they probably deserve what they get for going so far on the media space.
๐ฏ. A sample out of them will sure make a difference.
Thanks for the compliment.
Youโre most welcome
