I can always beat my chest and repeat wherever and whenever, the fact that I am proudly an agriculturist. Not only by utterance, but by actions and practices too.
I have written countless articles in this community professing my love and passion towards agriculture. My dreams and how they are beginning to come to reality gradually, and also my prospective future plans I have for it. Hopefully, i get all of my aspirations come true.
At times we are called farmers, but I mostly use the term agriculturists because that sounds more like advanced farming with an improved system of technology into the farming world.
For example there were times when farmers in the past had to undergo the labour of planting, making ridges, harvesting and processing through manual efforts, but in recent times everything got easier through the use of machines and equipment.
Outside the Hive platform, my physical hustle is to rear and breed fish. This is something I have dreamt of accomplishing for a very long time. It's not yet as big as I have envisioned but I believed Rome wasn’t built in a day. Good things surely takes time.
Apart from being a fish farmer, I would also love to see myself dive into other aspects of agriculture. Mostly the livestock aspect. I have practiced rearing broiler chickens and it was a success, but I can't dive into them all at once.
In the near future I hope I could have the source to fund the projects of breeding chicks, rearing broilers, layers, cockerels, turkeys, Guinea fowls, ducks and all sorts of avian species.
I also envision myself raising rabbits, cows for meat and dairy products, sheeps, goats and all other related animals for consumption and marketing purposes.
Aside from that I want to have hectares of land where I can plant, I wish to have sections for perennials, and annual crops. This would be another source of income on its own. The perennials are the most important because I can call it generational wealth. Once you have planted them, you keep reaping and still pass it on to generations to come. For all these to come to pass, money must be fully involved.
It has not been easy trying to make money online and also focusing on my offline job too. But trying to understand one’s time and creating a balance between the two is what matters.
The essence of feeding cannot be overlooked. As humans we have to eat, and the only means to have food is to go into farming. So this is one reason why I love my job. When food is out of one’s problem then the remaining problem is half solved.
My profession is one that also brings about more love for nature in its natural existence. If you’ve been to a fish farm and see these fish swim in the water so freely, witness their time for feeding, there is no way you won't fall in love with agriculture. Aside from that , if you witness a large plantation of crops and the greenery, you would feel the true essence of nature.
There is actually a lot in agriculture. And I am happy that as farmers are leaving due to old age and all other reasons, the younger ones are taking over.
This is my response to the hive learners community weekly featured content on Hive for the week 106 edition 1 and the topic to be discussed is WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?
These chicks are so cjte easpecially that one who is trying to fly. Yes dear planting is also my favourite and it hold a special place in my heart. Keep it up and always shine like a star
Agriculture really has a lot to offer. I can equally envision myself growing nuts and perennial crops in the future.
I like ur job brother, that's look so awesome. We must keep spirit for our future.
I predict a great future for you in the area of agriculture. What matters is that we like what we are doing and also that you help the community and the people in general by providing them with food. Your work is excellent. !!!!👋
