Fingers are not equal…

If God were to make our fingers equal, it's not impossible. It is possible that all our fingers would be thumbs and no middle or little finger. But he created them unequal for a reason. And they all have their purpose. But most of these fingers despite their inequality can’t function properly independently. They can have a full potential only when they are together.

This is just a case study of today's topic. Should we cap our earnings or not?

The inequality of life itself wouldn’t allow such. If it were so, then there wouldn't be many interesting things in life. If twins that were born the same day, from the same womb, by the same parent, came to life and had different talents and fates. Then what to say about random individuals?

The gap between the rich and the poor is something so natural and that's how life would continue till the end of time. For example, there is a company, and then the manager, the CEO, the staff, and the cleaners are all being paid the same amount at the end of each year. How well do you think the company would grow??

If the cleaners should be paid the same amount as the staff, then I guess everyone would rather want to be a cleaner and not bother overworking themselves as staff, if all managers should be paid the same amount as staff, then I guess all managers would apply to staff so they can work less. Such is the case with creating a limit to people's earnings.

Among the inequality of life is why some people are created to be lazy and weak, while some are strong and agile. What someone would do and see no stress doing it, if another person should do the same they might end up imbalanced. We all have our uniqueness and our differences. This is what makes us human.

So as for those who can go the extra mile to get what they deserve. And the more they keep going the more they keep making. Only if we have the same strength and we get to do the same thing then we might get the same rewards. But as much as there is variation there is nothing like a limit.

My friend started a poultry farm as we finished service, he was into it for some months and then the next time we had a conversation he told me he had already given up. He said he couldn't go further with it because it was too stressful. I agree, that might not be something he was passionate about. But I believe there are some people out there ready to put in everything they have to succeed in that same business.

Now he is working in a bank, we had another conversation again and he was ranting about how stressful the job was. Then I smiled and told him he had to endure and adapt to it. If not then he’s not ready to make money. Making money isn’t something easy. If it were to be that easy then maybe everyone in the world would be rich today.

So imagine if there were to be a capping on earning, my friend would surely never even want to think of working hard but rather just stay relentless and keep earning without much effort.
