A Good Apartment

In life, there are certain basic amenities that we need to have to live a good life; some are necessities, while others are luxuries. But out of all these, there are some compulsory ones that we need to have in place. Without it, it will surely be so tough to survive and live on. However, with those things in place, living becomes easier.

One of those compulsory needs is shelter; we all have a reason to get a shelter, this is what we call home. With a family and without a family, we all need shelter. It’s so important in our lives. Living without one is always tough.

Another important thing we need to live on is food. We all have to find something to eat so as to survive. So this has made food so important for our survival.

Getting these things is just one thing, though there are levels to how we can get them, sometimes some at the lowest level of it, and sometimes some at the highest level of it. Though to some they see it as equal, and to some it's never equal because they surely have an impact on our existence.

For some people, being in a one-room apartment and having the need for basic amenities at their reach is just enough for their livelihood, and to some others, they really want it so much flashy and luxurious. Same as taking meals too, some just can opt for whatever food it is, so far they are surviving. And to some others, they want it nice and nourishing. That’s actually what it means to live. Our choices are always different.

My choice in getting an apartment.

While I was a student, the times were quite different from now that I am about to settle down with a family. While I was still a student, I just wanted to have somewhere to live, sleep, and wake for class, and then live on. I knew it was all temporary, so I didn't care much. All I was after was an environment where I could get easy access to water and also to good electricity.

Another thing I had as a priority then was that the apartment shouldn’t be far from the main road linking to the school gate. I got somewhere that met all of the standards, and that’s where I lived till I was out of school.

Now I have to make another choice of getting an apartment. This time around, I have to be considerate not only for myself but for those I will build a family with, also being considerate of my workplace.

First off, I would love a serene environment, a cool one, not too distant from the major road, and also having electricity. The apartment should have a good water supply and also not be with crowded tenants. I believe the fewer the tenants, the better.

I will also prefer an apartment where it is just tenants alone and not with the landlord or landlady. The last apartment I was in before I left was really a rope on my neck, with the landlady living in the same compound as us. She was even the major reason why I had to vacate the apartment, despite how much it was my taste and choice of apartment.
