Rally In Motion - PhotoFeed Contest Street Photography 170

Usually, when a new business wants to open up here in my city, or an old one wants to remind you they’re still around, they don’t just post flyers and hope, they bring the street rally.

Street rallies are a great way to help publicize a business, it's product or services. That's why companies adopt it as it'd help them to get noticed fast, reach people directly, and equally make their business stick in people's minds.

A street rally setup is always the same, but it never gets old. There's usually a truck with speakers, a DJ, an MC on the mic, hyping all the way, some dancers and some guys doing the side attractions to pull the crowd.

Some guys even do the live mannequin thing — painted up, freezing mid-pose, pulling people in. At each stop, the dancers hit the street and the whole thing turns into a mini show, while flyers will be moving from hand to hand.

Although street rallies are usually noisy and chaotic, but they're colorful and fun too. I've been a part of it a couple of times so I can attest to it. Lol.

About two months ago, it was Skaibet.Lotto’s turn to hit up the streets of Aba to announce the opening of their lotto and games, and equally invite people to their official launch.

It was mid morning and from my office window, I heard them before I saw anything. Music blaring, MC hyping. The company sits directly opposite my office, and they were getting ready to head out. So I grabbed my phone, took a few shots from upstairs, then went down to catch it properly.

A unicyclist holding the crowd, the city moving around him.

Apparently I'm not the only one doing the photographing, lol. See that guy standing at the middle of the road, filming. When the street becomes the stage, you don't just pass by without capturing snapshots.

That's another scene and sound from around my office. Azikiwe road never runs out of them.
