Yesterday, I passed through a popular village market on the way to attend an event. The market called "Ahia Orie" (Orie market), is located at Ndiolumbe village. This market operates on large scale once every week, and it's only on "Orie days", just as it's name.
The market is always a beehive of activity. People from within and outside the village troop in to carry out one business activity or the other. Here, you'd get almost everything you need. From fresh farm produce - fruits, vegetables, to all kinds of food stuff, even kitchen utensils. A visit to the market and you'll be amazed by what you find.
The sun was already high that morning, casting shadows everywhere. Luckily, I was seated by the window-side of the vehicle. The driver stopped to drop some passengers, so I grabbed my phone and began snapping away, hoping I'd capture cool shadows.
Actually, the plan was to capture the shadows of these bike riders, turned out I missed the shots. Instead, I ended up capturing these candid moments. At least, I didn't miss out completely. Lol.
A bike rider with cassava stems tied to the back.

Another one trying to navigate busy road.

This one is carrying a passenger, with her load strapped at the back too.

They're not the best of shots, damn blurry. However, they tell a story - of people hustling to make ends meet amidst the noise and chaos of the market.
Sometimes the photos you don’t plan are the ones that speak volumes.
