Molding the Heart: My Journey of Trusting God’s Process

(edited)

Before joining the class, I read the assigned text for today's topic. The title of Ms. Diane's report is Here’s Where God Is Taking You: How People Change. This topic made me realize that growth is a process and not something that happens overnight. Many times, some people want instant change, or they want to become better, stronger, more disciplined, or more successful immediately. But this topic reminded me that real change takes time, mahabang panahon at oras ang kailangan. To achieve this, we need a lot of patience and, of course, guidance from God.

As a student, I can relate to this because there are moments when I feel frustrated with myself. And sometimes I procrastinate or doubt my abilities, especially when I feel or lose motivation. There are also a lot of times when I compare myself to my classmates who seem more talented or ahead in life. Why? Because of this, sometimes I feel like I am not improving fast enough, or maybe I'm not improving at all. But this topic reminded me that everyone has their own journey, and our God works differently in each person’s life. Ano talaga ang ipinakita sa akin na pinakatarget ng topic na 'to? This is the idea that God does not focus only on where we are now but on who we are to become as a person in the future. Even in struggles, failures, and delays, don’t mind that because God can always use those experiences to shape our character, especially our minds and hearts. And sometimes we think that the challenges are our punishment, but they may actually be preparation for something greater.

As I reflect, I have an experience from way back in senior high school. I think that many times when I have had a failure, that failure has taught me more than success. Getting low grades, facing rejection, or dealing with stress made me stronger, more humble, and more dependent on God. And those moments were painful, but if you look back, they helped me grow into a better version of myself, and this report also reminded me to be patient with others. Just like me, if you can see that other people are also changing and growing in their own way, then that's why we need to be patient. We cannot judge someone based only on their present mistakes because we do not know the process God is doing in their life. As a student, I may still have many weaknesses or failures, but I believe that our God is continuously molding me through every lesson and challenge that I may experience. He is taking me somewhere better, and I just need to trust the process and always trust the process to God.
