One good thing that the digital space has done is to make communication easier and faster for people all over the world. Much as I love having access to digital devices, services and tools, there are certain aspects of these which end up constituting a nuisance to me.
Cookies
Too many times, I have visited websites in search of important information and then a pop-up will appear to tell me that I need to accept Cookies to be able to access the information that I am looking for. Accepting the Cookies actually gives those websites permission to track my online activities. To protect my privacy, I decline cookies except if I have no other option.
Addition To Groups Without My Permission
There have been times in the past when I found myself added to certain WhatsApp groups that I never knew about simply because someone had my phone number. I decided to put a stop to that by going to my WhatsApp settings and selecting the option of joining groups by myself.
Distracting Notifications
Having my phone beep every now and then because of incoming emails, sms, WhatsApp message, Facebook posts or comments became an annoying experience for me. This was brought to an end when I decided to turn off all Notifications, and I only get to know if I have a message at the time blocks that I have set for checking my messages.
Incoming Calls At The Wrong Time
I hate it when Calls come in at the time I am trying to focus on a project or trying to take a nap. Here is where the "Do Not Disturb" feature on my phone works wonders. It silences the call without me even knowing, until when I check my phone. However, my family have access to a number that they can reach me on if there is something very important or urgent.
The truth about digital pet peeves remain that we can always find a way to deal with them instead of allowing them to deal with us.

Before now, I wasn't into the disturbance from notifications no matter how they were coming. But now, l love my peace, I love my mental health and so, I do turn off my notifications and even the apps whenever I want freedom or don't want to be distracted
The convenience of the digital world is amazing, but those little annoyances like unwanted notifications, random group adds, and constant cookies really get to me too. Loved how you’ve taken control of your space—it's a great reminder that digital peace is within our hands!
