The Street

This morning, I picked up my daughter from her school. It was located on Setu Bantar Gebang Street. The road was quiet and not crowded. There were only a few vehicles passing by, making the journey smooth and peaceful. It was a pleasant morning.

This is the main street that connects Setu Sub-district to Bantar Gebang. The sun was mild in the morning, but it can raise the temperature significantly by midday, making it quite warm.

The view of unorganized wiring systems is common here in non-elite housing areas. This location is not considered a high-class residential area, reflecting the modest living conditions and typical urban infrastructure challenges.

A siomay seller was serving his customer using a mobile food stall. He usually waited for the students to come out of school, as they were potential customers. Siomay is an Indonesian steamed fish dumpling served with peanut sauce.

I missed the timing—my daughter was supposed to finish school at 11:30, but I arrived at 10. It was too early, and I had to wait. To kill the boring time, I played a game on my phone.

In the end, though the wait was longer than expected, the quiet street, the simple surroundings, and a quick game helped pass the time. Moments like these, though ordinary, become small stories in the rhythm of everyday life.
