I have been posting in Hive and I am using ChatGPT to proofread my content and make some changes to make it grammatically correct, little did I know it is flagging my content as AI-Generated, now I understand some people in Hive is strict about that, but I have some questions and I wanted to make this post to make everyone aware, and let me know what they think about this matter.
Although it was not always the case, because when AI is non-existent I was already posting in Hive, I am just concerned that if someone tagged my post as "highly possibly AI-generated" -- I thought to myself that he/she is not alone to think that way, so I would like to open up a discussion about this matter and I am hoping people participate.
I will start by making this post and explain what my content-creation process looks like, in terms of using AI and how I am improving my posts using it.
The first step I make is I make a post, just like how I am making this one, I think of a concept and the subject, I start writing, and I don't mind the grammatical errors that may incur because I know I have ChatGPT to proofread it for me, but of course, I am also not writing some shit and non-sense words, As much as possible I try to make the things I write completely on the flow and related to the subject, and try to pour in a lot of ideas based on the subject and most of all do some research. (Do I copy some phrases on the source material? YES! But not the entirety of it, only details that need to be said exactly the same.)
Then once I am done writing my post, I try to skim through the content I have written and see if it does make sense, you know it could happen that we were writing something that is totally out of context and you did not notice it because you are so deep thinking about the things that you need to write.
Lastly, where the good part is, I copy all my written content and paste it into ChatGPT, asking him to "proofread and improve this content" I know it's kind of dumb to ask an AI to proofread but I think ChatGPT is doing good at it, then seconds later he will get back with me a better version of my post, I read through them, I regenerate if I don't like it and copy it and make my post if I like it. Just like what will happen to this post too.
Now, the question is will you consider the post generated from this process, AI-Generated content? Does this have any ethical concerns or the authenticity of the content I post? Everyone's feedback will be valuable and I would appreciate it if someone can shed some light on this.
In light of this, someone told me when they checked my post, it seemed that it has a high chance that it is AI-Generated, but no I would not consider my content AI-generated, the subjects are mine the ideas are mine, and the words are mine, I just asked the AI to proof-read it and improve some words for me. Some AI checkers might consider it AI-Generated, yes? But I do think, I will just have to post this so it is clear that my contents are 100% original and authentic unless some people say otherwise.
Probably I will just gonna have to say in all my posts that it is proofread by ChatGPT, will that help? I will really need the input of the Hive Community about this and I will greatly appreciate people who would drop their comments.
Now this is the content I made without ChatGPT, so below we will see the content ChatGPT improved for me.
I have been actively posting on Hive and utilizing ChatGPT to proofread and enhance my content. However, I recently discovered that some people in the community tag my posts as "AI Generated." This raised concerns for me, and I believe it's essential to open a discussion about this matter to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions.
Conceptualization:
When crafting a post, I start by brainstorming a concept and subject. I write freely, not overly concerned about grammatical errors, as I rely on ChatGPT to proofread and improve it. Nevertheless, I ensure that my writing stays relevant to the subject and is well-researched. While I might borrow phrases from the source material, I only use them when necessary.
Review and Sense Check:
Once I complete the post, I review it to ensure it makes sense and remains on-topic. Sometimes, when engrossed in the writing process, we might overlook contextual inconsistencies.
ChatGPT Proofreading:
Here comes the critical part. I copy my written content and paste it into ChatGPT, requesting it to "proofread and improve" the piece. Although it may seem odd to ask AI to proofread, I find ChatGPT helpful in refining my work. I then compare the suggested revisions and either regenerate them or use the improved version for my post.
Is My Content AI-Generated?
The question at hand is whether my posts, generated through this process, should be considered AI-generated content. I firmly believe they should not be classified as such. The concepts and subjects are entirely mine, and I pour my ideas and research into the posts. While I utilize ChatGPT for proofreading and enhancements, it doesn't replace my creative input. Therefore, the content remains authentic and 100% original.
Ethical Considerations:
I understand there may be ethical concerns surrounding the use of AI in content creation. It is essential to maintain transparency with readers and the Hive community. Acknowledging the involvement of AI in the proofreading process is honest and helps clarify the origin of the content.
Community Feedback:
I am open to hearing from the Hive community and welcome their valuable feedback on this matter. If someone deems my posts as AI-generated due to the involvement of ChatGPT, I hope this post clarifies that my content is genuinely original. I am committed to ensuring that my posts reflect my creativity and ideas.
Conclusion:
AI-generated content can be a powerful tool for writers, but its use should be transparent and ethical. In my case, ChatGPT serves as a valuable assistant in enhancing the quality of my posts without compromising their authenticity. I hope this discussion sheds light on the subject and resolves any concerns regarding my content on Hive. Thank you all for participating in this conversation.
Compare the two contents, the first is the raw content without the enhancements and improvements and the one below is the enhanced and improved version using AI.
Now if I ask you, if you are a content creator what would you rather post?
The first one which is unpolished or the second one which is an improved version of it?
You might argue that I can polish it without using ChatGPT, or any AI, yes it is true, but I would rather make it more convenient for me and take advantage of the technological evolution in front of me like I am taking part in the web3 revolution.
In that way, I can spend my time elsewhere instead of trying to get done with an already finished business. However, I would really love to hear what the Hive community takes on this, and if there are guidelines that I should know about using AI in my content.
I would really appreciate a friendly discussion about this matter, and I am hoping people will really put input into this, I mean this is not the first time I heard issues about using AI in Hive content, so might be a good way for people to talk in this way.
I guess that is it, and I hope everyone had a great week!

Let me first underline that I wasn't accusing you of posting AI generated content - I merely pointed out your post read like it was, and that an AI detection software also said it was highly likely. I also think it's great that you bring up the topic for discussion and giving it such serious consideration.
I totally agree on the part of taking advantage of new technology. The problem arise when it doesn't look like your content anymore. This was the case (in my opinion of course) in your post from yesterday that I commented on. Much of the phrasing oozed machine written in my mind - it's easy to tell when you've been playing around with LLMs for a bit. I don't doubt for a second that that article (and your other content) is original. Problem is that it looks AI-written after the "improvement", and is also detected as such. As a concrete suggestion, what if you tried to leave out the "improve" parameter in your prompt, and ask it only to correct grammar?
Honestly, reading the first half of this post, it looks like you write perfectly good English on your own without assistance. In the case of this post in general, both the part before and after AI improvement, I think looks human written.
Anyways and to be clear, I'm not trying to do any sort of policing around here, just trying to help :)
I am sorry, I did not mean that way where you feel that I am offended by pointing that matter out on my post, instead, I am grateful because I did not know it was actually detected as AI-Generated and it will help me a lot moving forward and it will go a long way.
I am mainly thankful for this suggestion, this is probably the way the content won't look so machine written, and will surely do this moving forward.
Yes, I think I was doing fine without GPT, but Idk I like it more when I use it lol. Nonetheless I am so thankful for you for bringing it up to my attention.
