We are now officially two days into the bracket play portion of the Little League Softball World Series. I'm pretty disappointed that they aren't showing more of the games on the major channels. My wife and I have been watching plenty of qualifying round baseball games for the Little League World Series, but it seems you have to pay extra to watch the softball games.
I was half tempted to fork out the cash, I mean eventually we are going to have to spend the money for ESPN+ so we can see the Radford games in the Big South conference this season. I'm cheap though and I don't want to pay any more than I have to before I have to.
I still wish they would throw us a bit of a bone and allow us to watch some of the games.
If you were to jump over to the official bracket site, you might have a little bit of trouble reading the bracket. It does kind of feel like it is a bit all over the place, but if you look really closely, you will likely figure it out.
Game 1 happened about two days ago when the Northwest Region seed fell to the Southeast region seed 9 to 2. Meanwhile, over in the other portion of the bracket, game two took place between North Carolina, and Latin America. North Carolina had a close win over Latin America 4 to 3.
That doesn't leave Latin America and Northwest out of the tournament, but it does move them down to the losers portion of the bracket where it will be a longer road for them to get to the title game.
Game 3 was another close one between Canada and Europe/Africa with Canada edging out the other team 5 to 4.
Game 4 was a tight 2 to 1 victory for Mid-Atlantic over New England. Meanwhile, Game 5 pitted the North Carolina team that beat Latin America against the Central seed whom they beat 5 to 3. Game 6 found Southwest battling Southeast and taking them down 2 to 1.
It shouldn't surprise you that so many of these games have such tight scores, this is elite level softball these young ladies are playing!
Game 7 matched the West seed up against the Mid-Atlantic team that took down New England in game 4. West got hammered 9 to 0 and that moved them down into the losers bracket to face Northwest in game 9.
In Game 8, Asia-Pacific beat Canada 6 to 1. That moves Canada into a game 10 match up against the Latin America team that lost in game 2. Games 9 through 12 take place today and then we have games 13 and 14 on Wednesday.
