A Glimmer of Hope?

It looks like there could be a glimmer of hope for a fantasy football league, but right now it is still looking like a slim chance. I had a bit of interest after writing this post yesterday. However, the fact is we are running out of time and if things don't fall into place rather quickly, I think it is going to be too late to try and accomplish anything.

I kind of lost track, but my wife let me know that the Lions already have a preseason game tonight, so there are only a few weeks now to get things sorted out. @tengolotodo expressed his interest. I am pretty sure I could get my brother in law to participate even though he doesn't have a HIVE account. Then you have me, I don't think I could probably get @mrsbozz to join in, but there might be a few other people interested. I don't think it has to be a huge league. We only had about 8 teams when we started my original family league.

It wasn't until later we started adding the kids to grow the league out to the 13 or 14 teams that we have today.

One of my biggest concerns was anonymity because we would have to use a platform like Yahoo or ESPN. I found this information online:

It would take some jumping through hoops, but I think it could be do-able if there was enough interest. Sadly, I think there isn't, but it might be something that I can get set up for next year when I have more time.

My thinking was I created a separate HIVE account that would just hold the rewards. Everyone who participates sends five or ten HBD to that holding account at the beginning of the season. I throw the 60 to 120 HBD in savings and let it grow interest for the 16 weeks or so that the season is taking place.

At the end of the season, the winnings with interest. I hadn't really considered the fact that maybe the league manager should get a small cut, but I have never collected one in the past, so why would I start now.

I don't know, as I type this out it sounds like a lot of moving parts that I am not sure I want to deal with. One of the things I said earlier was that I would be more than happy to participate in a league as long as I didn't need to run it. It's one of those situations where everyone has an opinion, but no one wants to do the work.

Even as I type this it feels like that glimmer of hope is getting dimmer and dimmer.
