Roles of Parents in ensuring proper environmental education

The family has an important role in shaping attitudes and behaviours towards environmental health education. My family instilled in me a strong respect for and awareness of the value of our environment from an early age. Through their acts and lessons, I learnt to value nature, conserve resources, and practise sustainable behaviour.

My parents acted as main role models. They displayed proper trash management, recycling, and energy efficiency at home. Their acts taught me that simple daily choices have a tremendous impact on environmental well-being. Furthermore, talks during family dinners frequently focused on environmental issues, which piqued my interest and understanding. Family outings provided opportunity for hands-on learning.

Trips to parks, beaches, and natural preserves were not only enjoyable but educational. My parents would explain the ecosystems we saw, emphasising the value of biodiversity and conservation initiatives. These encounters taught me to cherish the natural environment and recognise the impact of human actions on it.

Family customs reinforced sustainable practices. Earth Day celebrations and tree planting ceremonies have become meaningful rituals that reinforce our commitment to environmental responsibility. These efforts were more than just planting trees; they represented our joint commitment to conserve and maintain our environment for future generations.
