Hello all Hivians and good people of the Gems community. Most of us may not be aware of some major happenings or events around the globe that took place on this day many years ago. I will therefore take us round the globe in a giffey to have a look at some of those historical events that took place on this day, sunday the 15/09/2024 in history.

We begin today from the Latin America. Do you know that on this day in 1821, Central American notables accepted a plan draughted by Mexican caudillo Agustín de Iturbide, granting independence from Spain to Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

From the Latin America, we move over to England. Do you also know that on this day in 1984, Prince Harry of Wales, the youngest son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana of Wales, was born in London.

From England, we move over to the world of boxing. Now, on this day in 1978, Muhammad Ali won the world heavyweight boxing championship for the third time, defeating Leon Spinks.

From the world of boxing, we move over to the events of the Korean war. Do you know that on this day in 1950, United Nations troops landed at Inch'ŏn, South Korea, crippling a North Korean invasion during the Korean War.

Gentlemen, we'll round off our today's look in history from the events of WWI. Do you know that on this day in 1916, The tank was used for the first time in combat, by the British army during World War I.
