Holiday evening run!

Hi all,

Welcome back to my #running blog! The NN Marathon Rotterdam 2025 fast! While I do feel ready there is still some time to improve my basis and aim for a faster finish time!

Last week my focus was on reducing the stress on my right knee. i reduced my weekly milage a bit and incorporated 2x 20-ish minutes of jump rope. This has 2 effects:

  1. My knee needed this, the stress I felt is gone. No issue at all anymore!
  2. My garmin watch is confused! While the jump rope app is pretty fun - I would not advice anyone to use it as it incorrectly adjusts your max heartrate when you do a couple of sets of double unders. (My max should be 184 bpm , but it spiked on the watch on both jump rope training sessions well above 220 - while I hardly felt an intense effort) this means my watch now incorrectly estimates the heartrate zones, vo2max and LT pace.: going to dig into how to manually correct this!

This week the focus is on balancing family time with some light training. We are on a mini vacation together until friday, so my priority is there! When the kids are sleeping I aim to do some exercise. When planning the trip I thought I would be able to run in the forest as I took my own runningvest with lights with me - but that turned out to be way to dark and uneven ground to do at this time. So I picked a different, less fancy but safe route to run!
