October Hive Meetup - Checked!
November Hive Meetup - Checked!
December Hive Meetup - ??? Where to go? π
The trip to Krakow HiveBeeCon was pure addiction as I have missed HiveFest, I had to go somewhere, or I would burn alive... lol... In the end, that meetup was fantastic and I would repeat it any time again (and I hope we will next year!)... It didn't last the whole month, and I was already planning the next one... Or it was maybe on the plane when I was flying back from Krakow? π
Anyways, the Hive meetup in Zaragoza was a coincidence (if you believe in coincidences, which I don't π)... My son is currently in the last year of his secondary school and he is checking out his possibilities for further education... As one of the cities where he could do it, Zaragoza appeared as one of the best for his interests... As I became a kind of a regular Ecency Discord member, I met two fantastic moderators, @melinda010100 and @palomap3, and after a while, I realized that Paloma is from Zaragoza! I didn't hesitate to poke her and announce that my wife and I are coming soon... π
Hive Meetups are building bridges between people
When we were attending Krakow, I had a feeling that we were labeled by the locals as "Those crazy Hivians that have traveled over 3000km just to meet their friends"... π Now, it wasn't 100% like that, but the trip to Zaragoza was longer than to Krakow, but just because we were traveling by car... So, almost 5 hours driving in one direction to meet other Hivians!
The "event" took place on November, 8-9th, 2023... We arrived at Zaragoza around 2 PM, took a short nap, and adventure began! The idea was to try to animate more Spaniards to join us, but the country isn't as small as it looks on the map, and many Hivians are all over the place! We were counted as the "closest" with that 5-hour drive! In the end, we were 4 at the official Hive meetup day, but we had fun for 20! π
Around 4 PM, Paloma came to our hotel to pick us up, and we went for the long walk toward the old town, with the first stop at the The AljaferΓa Palace, where I took the photo above and the photo below... In the photo above, you can see @mipiano taking a photo of the beautiful ceiling in one of the rooms of the palace... I didn't count how many rooms were in total, but almost every room had a different ceiling and I couldn't pick which one was more gorgeous... I have many photos of the place, so I hope that I will create another post about that magnificent palace!
Currently, one part of the palace is used as the regional parliament of the autonomous community of Aragon... When there is no active session, tourists can visit the parliament too... You can see that girls are doing their promotional speech about HIVE and the advantages of Web3! π Decentralizing the centralized parliament! Brilliant! πͺ
After a 3-hour walk, the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar was picked as a meeting point with another Hivian... The square around the cathedral is one of the biggest in Europe (it was told to us that it is π), and without knowing the person who we had to meet, we saw a girl in the distance waving to us... It was @ninaeatshere, the person who was responsible for food that evening... π
protecting the privacy of a Hivian π
But, before eating, we had to walk another 1-2 hours, and in the photo above, you can see the typical Spanish way of talking... Let me tell you a short story about that... π When I came to live in Spain, I had no idea about the language, and to get better at it, I was watching a TV with English audio (everything is dubbed into Spanish, but you can switch to original), but I would add Spanish subtitles almost always... In that way, I would learn 2 languages at the same time, English and Spanish... But... It's not that easy... When you watch a Spanish movie, or a live show in Spanish with many guests, you have a situation when more than 1 person is talking and you would see the subtitle saying "Hablan a la vez" (speaking at the same time) more than often! π Well, the photo above shows exactly that... π€£
Oh, yes... I made another big mistake when I was writing my "announcement post" for this meetup... I said that we would have dinner around 7 PM, which was a mission impossible to do, what some people (@tengolotodo) who know when Spaniards are eating told me in the comment section... Well, Ed, you were right... π We were eating I had no idea when, around 9, or it was 10... π€£ After that, we went to search for a place to have something sweet, but most of the pastry shops were closed...
Besides picking up the best cake from the shop window, we had a long talk about HIVE, standing in the middle of the street, deep in the night, saying goodbye dozens of times... But still talking... Hive is an infinite topic for a talk among Hivians! Unfortunately, @ninaeatshere couldn't join us at our walk the next day as he had to work, but we got a promise that she would visit us next year!
The next day, we had another meeting with @palomap3, just to see all the sights from the previous day, but this time, during the daylight... In the end, I had to take my own way, leaving girls to walk around the town taking photos, while I sat down by the river, contemplating its beauties, curating HIVE posts from my phone, and running those Rising Star missions... π
After 2 very intensive days of walking and talking, it was time to call it a day and return home...
I don't know if it is from non-stop talking for 2 days, or it is from that cold Coke with ice from the restaurant, but I stayed without the voice... I hope it will pass until next Wednesday, as I plan to do an Ecency Discord show again, and maybe share some more details about this great meetup in Zaragoza!
Until the next Hive Meetup, see you here on HIVE!
Thank you for your time,
~ph~

You're definitely living my dream, man. You meet a lot of Hive users and you have a lot of fun. I'm not gonna lie, I envy you guys hahaha. Anyway, I will attend or organize at least 1 Hive meetup in 2024.
Sometimes, there are cheap plane tickets, so it's not a bad idea to check them when you have some free time for traveling... :)
When you organize your meetup, I will definitely check the tickets for your meetup location! Not a promise to come, but I will check availability! :)
That would be great. I'm sure you'll love the place because I'll choose Antalya probably but not sure about time. I'll try to announce it from a month earlier.
Such an interesting post, I love to attend some meetups in my country. This gave me an idea to setup a small meetup in India. No promises but even one more person (other than me) shows up then it's a meetup!!
That poor horsie π. How could you @palomap3
!PIZZA
I'm glad that you liked the post, but even more happy to see that it gave you an idea to set up a small meetup at your place! It always starts from 1 person with an idea... π
If India wouldn't be at the opposite side of a globe, I would come for sure π
A meet-up has a minimum of two people, so yes, you can do it and it will be great to see you in action. π
No worries, the little horse is ok, he survived me! π€£
I would say that more than a coincidence or fortuitous event, our meetup was something like that Spanish saying "matar dos pΓ‘jaros de un solo tiro," take advantage of the time and do two things at once, like you guys. π€£
That label of being a crazy Hiver who travels a lot for meetups seems great to me, living traveling is a dream and doing it to connect with nice people is a great motivation.
It's true that in the end there were only a few of us, but I hope that this will help to encourage more people and next time there will be more of us. Anyway, you are quite right, I had a great time and I was very happy to join and meet them.
Hahaha I loved your way of introducing me to the story, I love having the gastronomic responsibility of the event. Finding us in that square could have been more complicated, but thanks to paloma's attention, it wasn't so complicated for me to locate you π.
Hahaha what a laugh that you comment on the aspect of speaking all at once in Spanish, it reminds me of the Spanish series "la que se avecina" have you seen it. XD
Now I realize that you were really hungry hahaha we arrived at the restaurant at dinner at 20:40 and we stayed almost until 22h. That in Spanish time, is really early dinner hahahahahaha.
It was a brief but nice experience, it was short and I was left wanting to know much more of you @ph1102 and @mipiano but it is a reason to plan a new trip and meet again this time as a visitor, I have it in mind and I hope @palomap3 can join me on that adventure, we will surely find some time.
I send you a big hug and thank you very much for this initiative, keep it up creating those bridges on Hive. π
You waited for us to come to have a meetup with Paloma and you are living in the same city... You were afraid of @palomap3 and you needed bodyguards? π
I'm happy to see people replying to this post with ideas for organizing meetups, so, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
I didn't see that, but I saw a lot of times the example of "hablan a la vez" π π€£
I'm glad that you have free time and that we met! It was a real pleasure and I hope that we will see you and Paloma soon at our place! You have to find a good restaurant for us at our place... π We can't do it ourselves without the help of a professional! π
Hahaha noooo, I wasn't afraid, I think it's hard for me to have the initiative to organize something since I have very little free time and I would be sad if I couldn't meet everyone's expectations haha. You guys made it really easy for me, I just had to go and that's it. XD
And about getting a place to eat over there, no problem, I love looking for places to eat when I travel :D I'll be prepared hahaha! ππ»

Ohh thanks for keeping my anonymity (oops, now I realise that everyone is going to find out it's me π€£).
It has been a pleasure to welcome you and show you our city. I really liked looking at it from the perspective of those who know it for the first time, discovering details that go unnoticed in everyday life.
You both are so lovely, I saw it as soon as I looked into your eyes. That bridge we have built is made of stone, like the one in your photo. So that it lasts and withstands the floods that may come. π
In the above I include @ninaeatshere, we finally met and I hope that this has been only the first of many meetings and that other maΓ±os will join. βΊοΈ
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Thank you for being like you are. A giant hug. β₯οΈπ€
Aww... Thank you so much for your kind words!
Like I said in the post, it was a pleasure to meet you and Nina! Thank you for all the time that you gave us by showing us your great city!
I do not doubt that we will meet again... Where? It will be determined... :)
Ahh Paloma, I thought it wasn't you but now I know XD
π€£π€£ Itβs me, my clown side appears when the ambient is appropriate and I feel confident. That was the case. βΊοΈ
Such beautiful things Paloma writes, that intense eye perspective seems quite accurate, good people are visiting hahaha.
That's right @palomap3 , we have to take this meeting as a propellant to see each other more and share experiences together within the platform. :D
Yes, we will boost more meetings, we have lots of things to talk about, the time was so short to know you properly! π
This is so cool. Getting to meet hivers and create stronger friendships is beautiful. Do you plan on doing these smaller meetups more often?
And looks like some of us had "early access" to that picture of the bridge π
Huh... I would like to do these small meetups at least monthly, but the distances between Hivians could be very, very long... and my wallet has some objections about that... π
Hehehehe... Yeah, those who like to hang out in Discord live shows had early access to that photo... π
It looks like you had a great time but do the shops there close so early? In the US, it tends to stay open till quite late for the most part. Then again, I guess pastry shops tend to close a bit earlier.
When we finished the dinner it was past 11 PM... At that time, most of the shops were closed, except big supermarkets, but we didn't search for them... :) As it was Wednesday, some restaurants were closed earlier... It's not the case over the weekends...
I think you are setting the record for the most Hive Meetups in one year! That was great that you could hook up with some fellow Hivers near(ish)by. Those are some lovely impressions from Zaragoza.
I'm far away from setting the record as guys from Germany and Austria are doing a great job with their monthly meetings! I envy them on that!
I could beat the record if I would go to their meetups and + some others on the side... hehehehe... π
I know for sure if you have @ninaeatshere taking you out for dinner, you definitely won't be disappointed. So glad to see you guys attending another meetup and with two wonderful ladies, hope the three ladies didn't spoil you too much!!! π
It looks like you know her very well! π It's amazing how she was determined and knew from our inputs exactly where she would take us out to eat!!! π
Although most of the time they were talking, in the end, I was the person who lost my voice, with a sore throat! Like... WTF!? π
I'm not used to that pace and can't follow them... Gotta practice more... π€£
When/where next meetup, @livinguktaiwan? π
Hahaha I was super excited to be able to show them some of the local food @livinguktaiwan although I was left wanting to share a bit more, but I couldn't offer to guide the next day. I got to share photos from that dinner. π€©
Visitors should be spoiled as much as possible always. Very sorry to hear your throat was affected though @ph1102, the wind in zaragoza is inclement, very crazy weather.
It will definitely be a pleasure to be able to share such a tour again, with gastronomy within the plan.
Congratulations for participating in two Hive meetups! I hope to be able to do the same in the future

I would like to participate in the meetup in Italy... Organize one somewhere in July, and maybe I could come... π
I'm not going to keep repeating how envious I am, but I can't wait until the Wednesday HHHLive show to hear more of the stories!
@palomap3 be prepared to join in on air so that you can tell us all about meeting @ph1102!
Girls left me without the voice and I'm not sure that I will recover until Wednesday... If not, Paloma will have to take over and share her view of the meetup... It would be interesting to hear "the other side"... π
That would be great! She is good on air, but I hope you are back to 100% by then!
Although to talk comfortably I need two people talking with me at the same time, as you know @ph1102 β¦ π€£ I will be there if your voice continues disappeared. βΊοΈ

How wonderful these meetings are. I'm so happy for you guys. Nothing like talking face to face. Even if there are only a few of you, if the company is good, the number doesn't matter.
It might be interesting to set yourself the challenge of one meeting a month π€.
Indeed! We weren't many, but we had a lot of fun! It's always nice to meet new people, and when there are amazing people, the time spent with them is priceless!
That would be a real challenge... I was thinking about that but with small cheating... Counting online meetups as regular meetups... π
hehe yeah not before 10pm I would say. Glad you had a great time!
But we didn't plan that hour at all, and in the end, it was like that... All roads lead to Rome... hahahahaha
hehe they do!
Seems like you guys had a great time together. Hive Meet-ups are always fun and amazing...
We had a great time and we mentioned you, as @palomap3 said that she would like to meet you in person! I hope that you two will have a chance to do that in one of the future meetups!
I really hope so...

I think that even only with two people from HIVE, a HIVE meet-up can be realized :)
Of course, it can be done! That's great for the start... After that, next time you have 2 organizations finding the 3rd participant... :)
I've never attended any Hive meet up
Well, it won't be bad for my friends and I to have one in Lagos
How do you feel about that?
Good right?
Hive Meetups are the best! I was on many and all were great! Connecting usernames with faces in real life is amazing...
If you have a chance, you should do it... Find a Havian from your surroundings and create a meetup!
Nice sharing! Sure looks fun!

It was fun! Thanks for checking out the post!
@ph1102, @relf87 just sent you LUV. (4/4)
This place is very special for a meetup and also very beautiful. One feels very good to visit such a place and see the natural scenery.
Thanks! It was great!
Most welcome dear.
