There are many risks on spending too much time online. I always use computer before and up until now and I can say that there are also risks involved when spending too much time online or in a computer.
While spending too much time online like playing on a computer, chatting with friends, shopping, or scrolling the news feeds on the social media app can make entertained and sometimes we did not notice that we spend more time online in our computer or on our phones.
When we spend online, we need to know to limit on how many minutes or even hour on spending them so that we can track and continue with our real life work. Most of the times, when we spend more time online, we cannot do our work either when we were at home or at work because we only focus on spending too much time online.
I experience this one before, like spending too much time online, not just once but many times and when I think about work I will "procrastinate" until I will not do my work before of spending all of my time online.
Is it a good idea?
I say that spending too much time is not and not a good idea at all because I can't even continue with my work progress whenever I spend too much time online like just doing nothing but only scrolling in the social media application and then watching videos.
There are also people that they spend too much time online because of their work and I think it's good for them because it's their work while the negative impact for these spending too much time has also risked involve.
The risks involves not only on our mental health but other risks pertaining to this spends too much time. Just like myself while spending too much time online gets me pains like backache, numbing of my body parts, at the same time, financial risks because of online shopping that I've told you before on my blog.
These risks will not be fade away if continue doing this kind of habit but this can prevent if we have another kind of entertainment rather than only spending so much time online.
We can be entertained by hanging out with friends, relatives, or family, or continue doing your hobbies or interests so that we will not think about spending useless time online that sometimes gives stress to us while doing nothing.
What we can do is set a specific time on when we can stop while spending time online, although, it will be very hard at first but continue on doing it can make this possible.
I agree with the points you mentioned. Seems like our day revolves around the internet and electronic device. We sometimes forget to set limit on our viewing time or usage time. We should think of the long-term consequences on our health too. Sometimes I miss the olden times before internet and gadgets became widespread.
We are now in a technology world, now and it's evolving every day. I think we also spend more time not to use gadgets and doing stuffs that keeps us away from using gadgets.
I can feel sometimes that I am always tired when I work online as an ESL teacher and I easily get angry.
