One of the strategies I like to use the most in Splinterlands is to cause Debuffs on my opponent's monsters, so I will have a better chance of winning since their monsters will be weaker and more vulnerable.
Today I will show you a battle I had in Splinterlands where using the Demoralize debuff was the right strategy and because of that I was able to come out victorious.
This battle took place in a Gold Fray Brawl, I am currently playing on this Fray because I am not very confident in playing on the Diamond League Frays, but I will soon play on them.
My strategy for the battle was very simple, I used monsters that have the Demoralize ability and monsters to attack my opponent's backline.
I will explain in parts how the strategy I chose for this battle works.
First I will talk about the Summoner I selected.
I really like using the Astral Entity in my battles because in my opinion it is very useful since the Dodge ability makes a big difference for my monsters to dodge attacks and decreasing the armor of enemy monsters makes them more vulnerable.
Now I will talk about the monsters I selected.
In the first position we have Harklaw, he is a monster with a melee attack and has a strong defense since he has the ability Shield and with this ability he will only receive half damage against melee and ranged attacks, in addition he has the ability Demoralize which means he will decrease the melee attack of all enemy monsters by -1.
In the second position we have Legionnaire Alvar, he is a monster with a melee attack and also has the ability Demoralize and he will be able to attack in the second position because there is the Maneuvers rule in battle so he receives the ability Reach.
In the third position we have Revealer, he is a monster with a magic attack and his main function will be to apply Stunned to monsters with his ability Stun.
In the fourth position we have Silent Sha-Vi, she is a melee monster and her main function will be to attack the backline with her ability Sneak.
In fifth place we have Lira the Dark, she is a monster with a ranged attack and she will also attack my opponent's backline, but she has another important function which is to increase the speed of allied monsters by +1 with her Swiftness ability.
In sixth place we have Xenith Archer, he is a monster with a ranged attack and has no abilities so his function is only to cause damage in battle.
Choosing the Demoralize debuff was the right strategy because most of my opponent's monsters have melee attacks so they will suffer a lot with this debuff since they will cause less damage in battle.
I have to admit that it was not an easy battle and several times I thought I would lose but in the end I managed to emerge victorious and I only managed to do this because my opponent caused much less damage in battle since his monsters had -2 melee attack because of the 2 debuffs I caused on them.
Debuffs are a great strategy in Splinterlands and now that I am learning more about them, I will use them more often and enjoy incredible battles like this one.
