I was developing new strategies for Splinterlands and today I will show a battle in which I am sure my opponent was very angry because he could not defeat my tank even though he had a large amount of attack.
In this battle there are 3 rules which are: High Five, Deflection Field and Fog of War.
In the High Five rule the player can only select 5 monsters for the battle.
In the Deflection Field rule all the player's monsters gain the Reflection Shield ability and with this ability the monsters do not receive damage from the Blast, Magic Reflect, Return Fire and Thorns abilities.
In the Fog of War rule all monsters lose the Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity abilities.
My strategy for this battle was based on the Fog of War rule, because all enemy monsters will attack my monster from the first position unless they have the Scattershot ability.
I selected the monster Uriel the Purifier to be my tank in this battle and the reason is that he has a large amount of health and shield, in addition to having very useful abilities such as Flying and Heal.
The Flying ability will give Uriel the Purifier +25% chance to dodge melee and ranged attacks from monsters that do not have the Flying ability.
The Heal ability will heal Uriel the Purifier for 1/3 of his maximum health 1x per round.
Uriel the Purifier also has the ability Recharge, but I don't consider it a good ability since it makes him not attack during a turn to cause 3x the damage of his attack in the following turn. The reason I don't like it is that it can be easily blocked by a shield or Uriel the Purifier can miss the attack, but if it hits the enemy monster's health directly, then it will cause great damage.
The second card in my strategy is the monster Venari Crystalsmith, which has the ability Tank Heal and will help Uriel the Purifier by healing him for 1/3 of his maximum health 1x per round. In short, in this battle Uriel the Purifier will have 2 healing abilities to help him survive and with the help of the ability Flying he will have a good chance of dodging attacks.
Luckily, my opponent doesn't have any monsters with the ability Scattershot, so his target will only be Uriel the Purifier. I was also lucky that none of my opponent's monsters have the ability Affliction, which cuts off monster healing.
When the battle began it was a war of dodging and healing, I have to admit that even though the strategy was good it had its risks because my opponent really had very powerful cards, even I was surprised to have won the battle and even more surprised that none of my monsters were defeated.
