Hello Splinterlands Summoners! Our guild was in fourth rank in our latest brawl. In today's post, I'll be sharing our performance, my gladius pack opening and a couple of battles that I won.
Our guild finished in respectable fourth place, winning in eighty eight battles and losing eighty. We earned one hundred three crowns that we can use to improve our guild buildings.
I'm pleased to contribute six points out of eight battles. Each of us earned 5k+ Merits and 76 SPS.
I had over six thousand Merits which I used to buy three Gladius packs. Each pack contain five cards with one guaranteed rare or higher. This means I will have fifteen new cards added to my deck. I can use them to upgrade some of my cards if I have enough copies.
Today's pull is not so lucky. I only got rare cards and they're not even what I wanted like Captain Katie or Orella Abadon. I would like to upgrade those cards to a higher level to be more competitive.
The following battle featured Noxious Fumes and Heavy Metal rulesets. The max mana was fifty two which accomodates high mana units. When faced with Noxious Fumes ruleset, I would check if my units have Immunity or Cleanse and would usually choose those. However, this battle also has Heavy Metal so I wanted to use high health magic units. Based on those two rulesets, I formed my team and decided to use the Death Splinter.
Xulax Nightwind is a legendary Gladiator card. I wanted to use this card that's why I chose the Death Splinter. Among his abilities are Thorns and Void Armor. Thorns will work well against enemy melee units while I also expected the other team to use magic units that's why I considered the Void Armor ability. Xulax has a high armor and health stats which are great in the ruleset.
Thraghun is a high mana unit which is great in second position when used in the Death Splinter. He has dual attack of melee and ranged and had decent defensive stats. He has the Reach ability which enables him to attack from second position. Also, he will gain the Close Range ability from the archon, Razi Clanktrap. This will allow him to attack with Ranged from first position.
Arcane Skinwalker is another high mana unit. He deals two magic damage and has decent armor and health making him great in this ruleset.
Conclave Tracker is magic dealing unit with a great support ability. She deals one magic damage and has five health for sustainability. She has the Repair ability that will help keep my tank in battle longer.
The Chaos Battle Mage is a legendary reward card. She deals three ranged damage and has five health. She has two good abilities in this battle. She has Piercing that will allow her attacks to damage the targets health in excess of armor and Rebirth which allows her to Resurrect once per battle.
Deep Delver is a rare unit that deals three ranged damage. It has four health for sustainability and has Rust which decreases the enemy armor. She is also a gnome that takes advantage of the archon's Bloodline ability, Painforge. Painforge will increase her attacks as she gets damaged by poison.
The enemy team chose the Water Splinter with high health units and a unit that buffs his team with additional health to meet the Noxious Fumes ruleset. However, he had in his team the Water Diviner which damages his team every turn. I don't think it's advisable to have this unit when you already have poison damage every turn.
My team who deals more damage in every turn eliminated his tank in the first round and his off tank in the second. It also helped that his Water Diviner was damaging his team in every turn along with poison. Soon I won the battle in round three.
In the next battle, I chose the Death Splinter again. The rulesets were Reverse Speed and Four's a Crowd. The slower units are faster in this battle and it only allows a maximum of four units.
I chose almost the same team composition but this time I included a healer. The Arachne Weaver is an epic reward card. It deals two magic damage and has a powerful healing ability, Corrupted Healing. It heals 70% of the max health of all allied units in exchange for max health reduction by one.
The enemy team chose a dual Splinter archon with Water and Death. His team included a legendary Gladiator card, Flagulon Reine who has the Blast ability. He also has a Black Foil Deep Delver in the team.
My team was "faster" and my tank had better defense coupled with his Thorns ability. Soon my opponent's units were eliminated while my team was still intact. I won the battle without losing a single unit.
