Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Community Engagement Challenge! A few weeks ago, the Frontier Mode or Splinterlands's new free to play mode was rolled out. This week, new exciting updates to the game were announced to go on live.

First, there will be a new weekly drawing for the Gold Foil Arcane, Black Foil, and Black Foil Arcane cards. Players will earn entries by completing the daily quests: 1 per quest for Bronze, 2 per quest for Silver, and 3 per quest for Gold. Each week 76 cards will be awarded to unique players that have entered the drawing. There will be additional ways to earn entries as well!

The second announcement was next airdrop card, Zarin the Scorch. She is a legendary dragon card that deals magic damage and has buffs and debuff abilities.

Frontier Draws

The Frontier Draws is an exciting new way to reward players who play the Frontier Mode. In the Frontier, players win reward chests by winning five games in sets of three for a total of fifteen wins. Now with Frontier Draws, winning the battles will qualify players to earn 6 tickets (1 per quest for Bronze, 2 per quest for Silver, and 3 per quest for Gold) in the Frontier Draws. Every week, 76 cards of the Foundation set will be won in the draw and awarded to unique players who have qualified for the draw.

To me, this is an exciting new way to reward players who come in to play the game--and this is completely for free! Players will get to the chance to earn some ultra rare Black Foil and Arcane versions of Foundation set cards simply by just playing the game. The Frontier Mode is proving to be the favorite among the players as announced yesterday: More players now play the Frontier Mode than all other modes combined!

Zarin the Scorch

The other exciting announcement was the unveiling of the second Conclave Arcana Conflicts Airdrop: Zarin the Scorch! Zarin the Scorch is a legendary dragon card. At maximum level, she deals three magic damage, has three speed and seven health. She has five abilities, among them attack, debuff and buff abilities that can help win battles. At level one, she has the Slow ability which reduces the speed of enemy units. At level two, she gains Phase Ward which grants the unit in front of Zarin the Scorch the Phase ability. At level three she gets two new abilities: Camouflage which makes her invisible to attacks unless she is in first position and Cleanse Rearguard which Cleanses the last allied backline unit with a magic debuff like Poison. At maxed level, she gains her last ability: Blast which deals additional damage to units adjacent to the target.

Conclave Arcana Conflicts Mechanics

As I previously posted the new mechanics of Conclave Arcana Conflicts involves the following:

All Mage Wagons, both existing and newly crafted, are eligible. Each wagon can carry up to five cards or up to one hundred packs (Any Rebellion or CA Pack). Conclave Arcana cards or packs will earn full collection power in points while Rebellion cards or packs will earn only half collection power in points.

Points Breakdown

Packs:

Rebellion: 50 points
CA Standard: 100 points
CA Alchemy: 300 points
CA Legendary: 600 points

Rewards System

Every 100,000 points earns you 1 entry toward the Conflict airdrop and each entry has a 0.117647% chance to receive the Conflict card. A guaranteed drop is awarded after 850 entries. For every 25 cards received in one Conflict, you are guaranteed 1 Gold Foil version. If you use alchemy potions to boost all of your chances it will be reduced to every 13 cards received in one Conflict, you are guaranteed 1 Gold Foil version.

Jackpot Additions

At the end of each Conflict, one Black Foil Arcane and five Gold Foil Arcane cards will be added to the Conclave Arcana Jackpot prizes, which means they will be discoverable through in game pack purchases.

Preparation Phase

Between each Conflict, a Preparation Phase will give players time to repair or adjust wagons before the next battle.

Final Thoughts

Splinterlands continue to roll out exciting new updates each week. This has led to an uptick of new players coming into the game thus ensuring that the game as well as its assets and tokens keep their value. This is great news to old players who has invested in the game while also giving a chance for new players to discover and enjoy the game we all love and passionate about.
