Hello Splinterlands Summoners! We just finished another season in Splinterlands. I ended up in Gold II but didn't earn enough Glints this season. I had been busy with other stuff and wasn't able to play as much as I liked.
I spent my Glints to purchase two legendary chests. There are still some cards missing in my collection and I'll keep buying legendary chests until I get them. Unfortunately, I didn't but these are not bad cards.
I was able to upgrade my Endless Gibbon to level two. It gained one health stat and a step closer to level three.
As for the Chaos Battle Mage, I still need two BCX to level her up to three.
We also finished another Brawl where I earned some Merits. I'll also spend it now to buy four Gladius cases. Each Gladius case contain five cards with one guaranteed rare or higher. This means I'll have twenty new cards added to my collection to upgrade my existing cards.
Not one of my best pulls. I only got mostly commons and rares. I don't use the epic I got so this one is not so great.
My bread and butter team that gives my a high win rate has so far been the Earth team. I would use a strong tank followed by elves in the rear to take advantage of the Execute ability given by the archon, Kaylia Silverleaf.
I didn't use the Warborn Chieftain when Chaos Legion was still in Modern but now he's my main tank in the Earth team. He has a high four melee damage and three speed. He doesn't have armor but has seven health and abilities to help him in his tank duties. He has both Shield and Phase abilities to defend against all forms of attacks. The rest of the team are composed of elves as much as I can.
Another favorite combo of mine and is the Cavewise Wayfinder, Vicious Giraffe and Portly Cannoneer in the Fire splinter. I also like the Fire archon who gives +2 armor to the team. He reminds me of Kelya in the Chaos Legion set.
Aside from three units forming the combo, I also used the Halfling in fourth position. His job is to absorb the damage from Kha'zi Conjurer's Incendiary ability. The Kha'zi Conjurer is an ideal unit to use in low mana battles. At only two mana, he deals four ranged damage.
Next battle is from our recent brawl. It's a Little League ruleset so my choices are limited. I decided to go for the Death team this time.
Thragha is an underrated card in my opinion. I ought to level up this card and use it more. It's an ideal tank in low mana battles having the Void ability to defend against magic attacks. It also has Painforge which is useful under certain combos. The Death Ranger can be a good tank if used with Razi Clanktrap as archon since he grants the Close Range ability to units. For my Gladiator card, I chose Whistling Damon who deals two ranged damage and has the Snipe ability. In fourth position I had the Broken Earth Thug who deals two melee damage and has the Opportunity ability. In fifth, I placed the Dark Arborist who is a gnome. It will gain the Painforge ability from the archon. It will combo with Gonach Excavator who I placed in the last position. It has the Reckless ability the works well with a unit with Painforge.
The opponent chose the Earth team with a strong two mana tank. My snipe and opportunity attackers are great in this battle since I can also hunt the opponent's units in the middle and avoid wasting time on his tank. The combo of Reckless and Painforge also works well in this battle.
Another season has gone and I will continue to grind in the new season. I aim to upgrade my existing cards and be competitive in Gold I. My initial focus will be to upgrade my archons and then units that will be useful to my team and combos that I often use.
