Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge. This week on July 16, Conclave Arcana Conflicts has gone live. Conflicts is a mechanism to earn card airdrop rewards for participants.
Unlike traditional drop based solely on pack purchases, Conflicts require players to actively stake Rebellion and Conclave Arcana assets like cards and packs into Mage Wagons. Staking assets gives chances for card airdrops.
Each Conflict lasts approximately 30 days, with nine scheduled over time. Players accumulate points that will give them chances proportional to their assets staked. The more powerful the cards and packs you stake, the better your odds at winning the Conflict’s exclusive airdrop.
To participate in Conflicts, you will need at least one Mage Wagon where you can stake your cards or packs.
A Mage Wagon can hold up to five cards and one hundred packs. The more Mage Wagons you have, the more you can stake and increase your chances of winning an airdrop card. You can either build your own wagon in the Artisan's Quarter or buy it from the market.
You can either build it yourself in the Artisan's Quarter. To build a Mage Wagon, you will need: 40,000 Wood; 10,000 Stone; 4,000 Iron and 2,500 Aura.
Another option is to buy it from the market for around $5.85 each.
Each card or pack asset earns points based on its type. Conclave Arcana cards earn points equal to their full collection power, while Rebellion cards earn points equal to half their collection power. For packs, Conclave Arcana standard packs earn 100 points, and Rebellion packs earn 50 points. In addition, Conclave Arcana Alchemy packs earn 300 points, and Conclave Arcana Legendary packs earn 600 points.
For every 100,000 points earned, you receive one chance to win in the Conflicts airdrop. Each chance carries a 1 in 800 (0.125%) probability, meaning you’re guaranteed an airdrop if you accumulate 800 chances within a single Conflict.
There are also chances to receive special edition cards. Gold Foil versions have a 4% drop rate (1 in 25), while Black Foils are much rarer, with just a 0.1% chance. These odds can be doubled by using Alchemy Potions for Gold Foils and Midnight Potions for Black Foils.
But that’s not all, at the end of each Conflict, exclusive Arcane versions are up for grabs. One Black Foil Arcane and five Gold Foil Arcanes will be added to the Conclave Arcana jackpot rewards.
Each Mage Wagon can carry up to five cards, and the points earned are based on the card's collection power. The higher the collection power, the more points you gain. This makes it more efficient to stake high-level, high-rarity cards rather than low-level or common ones.
Gold Foil cards, and especially Black Foil cards, are even more effective due to their higher collection power. For instance, a single Black Foil Legendary has 62,500 collection power, which is more than the 52,500 of a max-level Gold Foil Legendary. However, Black Foil cards, especially legendaries, are ultra-rare. So if you plan to join Conflicts, aim to stake the highest collection power cards available to you.
Every time you receive an airdropped card, one of your Mage Wagons becomes damaged and must be repaired using the same resource cost before it can be used again. This applies whether or not the wagon was actively participating in the Conflict.
For example, if you own 300 wagons and 150 of which are currently in use. You got lucky and you receive 100 airdropped cards, then 100 out of your 300 wagons will be damaged and need to be repaired.
Conflicts is a great way to reward players who have invested in Splinterlands assets. However, it's not simply a matter of having more assets although, it gives you an advantage. Players must still decide whether to stake their cards for airdrop chances or keep them available for gameplay.
Staking cards means you cannot use them in battles, creating a trade-off. Additionally, participating in Conflicts introduces new DEC sinks, as players may need to spend DEC to purchase Mage Wagons and to repair them after use.
