My Modern Format Progress: Playing, Buying Starter Packs, and Upgrading Cards!
In my previous post about Splinterlands I shared my choice to stop playing in the Wild Format because after three seasons of testing using XBOT my collection of wild cards has produced a positive but very very small financial result.
I'm doing a test season to try out my collection of wild cards in Survival Mode only, and even though there are still more than 9 days left until the end of the season, my financial results in the Wild Format are better than what I obtained in the previous season playing in the Wild Format.
In fact in the previous season my net gain in SPS tokens (total gain in SPS - Wild Pass cost - XBOT fees) in the Wild Format was 41.82 SPS while in the current season in the Survival Mode I have already gained 48.57 SPS.
Closing this parenthesis regarding the use of my Wild cards in this post I share my progress in Modern Format which is my favorite game format because in this format there are no bots and no battle helpers and because I only have fun if I play with human players like me.
At the time of writing this post, season 162 is underway and will end in 9 days and 20 hours.
In the Modern Format, in the current season I have played 79 battles and achieved 39 victories.
I am happy to have played a good number of battles in the first 5 days of the current season and I hope to have the free time in the next few days to play more battles because I would like to improve my game results and financial results that I achieved in the previous season.
In fact, in the previous season I didn't have much free time available and I only played 156 battles and ended the season at Diamond leaderboard rank 162.
Thanks to the 79 battle wins in season 161, I earned 416.75 SPS = $2.99.
The highest league I played in in season 161 was the Diamond II league, and with the GLINT tokens I accumulated I purchased 6 Epic Draw.
My results could be better if I had more high level summoners (archons).
Unfortunately, I only have maximum level Akane that I can use while the other summoners are still low level and do not allow me to use my maximum level unit type cards.
I have not yet found any usable high level summoners in the Modern Format at a rental price that I like and so I continue to play with the summoners I have but at the same time I continue to buy packs of cards of the Arcana Conclave set to increase the level of the cards of this set hoping to find specifically the summoner type cards.
In fact, the highest level summoner that can be used in Modern Format with the lowest rental price is Underboss Fabino which costs 107.21 DEC per day but this is too high a cost for me based on my daily SPS earnings from my Modern Format gaming activity.
To increase the number and level of cards of the Arcana Conclave set available to me today, I purchased 22 Starter packs.
Before buying a pack of cards I always check the estimated value because I make the purchase only if the estimated value is higher than the purchase cost.
Today July 4, 2025, the estimated value of 1 Starter pack is greater than the purchase price by +15.94%
To purchase 22 starter packs, I spent 22000 DEC.

Thanks to the cards I found today I was able to make some upgrades:
- Cavewise Wayfinder: level 3 -> level 4
- Vicious Giraffe: level 2 -> level 3
- Bludgeon Hucker: level 2 -> level 3
- Archer Koi: level 1 -> level 2
- Buttercup Mauler: level 3 -> level 4
- Caravan Guard: level 3 -> level 4
- Conclave Artificer: level 3 -> level 4
In the next image you can see my last battle I won playing manually with @libertycrypto27 in the Modern Format in the Gold I league with a SPS boost x9.37 (68K SPS staked)

I Miei Progressi nel Modern Format
Nel mio precedente post su Splinterlands ho condiviso la mia scelta di non giocare più nel Wild Format perchè dopo tre stagioni di test usando XBOT la mia collezione di wild cards ha prodotto un risultato finanziario positivo ma molto molto piccolo.
Sto facendo una stagione di test per provare la mia collezione di wild cards solo nel Survival Mode e anche se mancano ancora più di 9 giorni alla fine della stagione i miei risultati finanziari nel Wild Format sono migliori di quelli che ho ottenuto nella precedente stagione giocando nel Wild Format.
Infatti nella precedente stagione il mio guadagno netto in token SPS (guadagno totale in SPS - costo Wild Pass - fees XBOT) nel Wild Format è stato di 41.82 SPS mentre nella stagione in corso nel Survival Mode ho già guadagnato 48.57 SPS.
Chiusa questa parentesi relativa all'utilizzo delle mie Wild cards in questo post condivido i miei progressi nel Modern Format che è il mio formato di gioco preferito perchè in questo formato non ci sono bots e non ci sono battle helpers e perchè mi diverto solo se gioco con giocatori umani come me.
Nel momento in cui scrivo questo post è in corso la stagione 162 che terminerà tra 9 giorni e 20 ore.
Nel Modern Format, nella stagione in corso ho giocato 79 battaglie e ho ottenuto 39 vittorie.
Sono contento di aver giocato un buon numero di battaglie nei primi 5 giorni della stagione in corso e spero di avere nei prossimi giorni il tempo libero necessario per giocare altre battaglie perchè mi piacerebbe migliorare i risultati di gioco e i risultati finanziari che ho ottenuto nella stagione precedente.
Infatti nella stagione precedente non ho avuto molto tempo libero a disposizione e ho giocato solo 156 battaglie e ho concluso la stagione al rank 162 della Diamond leaderboard.
Grazie alle 79 vittorie in battaglia nella stagione 161 ho guadagnato 416.75 SPS = 2.99$.
La lega più alta in cui ho giocato nella stagione 161 è stata la lega Diamond II e con i token GLINT che ho accumulato ho acquistato 6 Epic Draw.
I miei risultati potrebbero essere migliori se avessi più evocatori di livello alto.
Purtroppo ho solo Akane di livello massimo che posso usare mentre gli altri evocatori sono di livello ancora basso e non mi permettono di usare le mie carte di tipo unità di massimo livello.
Non ho ancora trovato evocatori di livello alto utilizzabili nel Modern Format ad un prezzo di noleggio che mi piace e quindi continuo a giocare con gli evocatori che ho ma allo stesso tempo continuo ad acquistare pacchi di carte del set Conclave Arcana per aumentare il livello delle carte di questo set sperando di trovare in particolare proprio le carte di tipo evocatore.
Infatti l'evocatore di massimo livello utilizzabile nel Modern Format con il prezzo di noleggio più basso è Underboss Fabino che costa 107.21 DEC al giorno ma questo è un costo troppo alto per me in base ai miei guadagni in SPS giornalieri della mia attività di gioco nel Modern Format.
Per aumentare il numero e il livello delle carte del set Conclave Arcana a mia disposizione oggi ho acquistato 22 Starter packs.
Prima di acquistare un pacco di carte controllo sempre il valore stimato perchè effettuo l'acquisto solo se il valore stimato è superiore al costo di acquisto.
Oggi 4 luglio 2025, il valore stimato di 1 Starter pack è maggiore del prezzo di acquisto del +15.94%
Per acquistare 22 starter packs ho speso 22000 DEC.
