Pause the "play button" of life before it pauses you.

1000607727.jpg

The last few days have been extremely stressful for me, and when I am stressed, I do not seem to perform well; however, I understand that stress is unavoidable, and sometimes you just want to hit "pause," but the reality is that every human being is like a piece of equipment being moved on a conveyor belt; when you crash, the belt appears to continue to move.

A moving ecosystem

Whether you like it or not, you are a part of life, and we are all moving in different directions. It is difficult to pause even when necessary; life will continue, your bills will rise, the rent will be due, and other expenses will accumulate.

This is why one of my favorite quotes is "life is a moving train heading for a collision; if you stay, you crash; if you jump off, you crash," which reflects some of life's inevitabilities.

Some of these inevitabilities are annoying; we wish we could have more control, dictate our own fates, and have a say in some of the most complicated aspects of our journey, but we can't.

Everything will continue to move forward whether or not you do.

This is frightening, yes. Everything in life has an expiration date; we all have different times to end our journeys, and the only difference is that even those who will move on will eventually get their expiration date.

Do not be afraid or gloomy.

I am a pro-lifer who believes in happiness, joy, and merriment, but my reflections are usually of the harsh realities of life.

In my younger years, I lived mindlessly: partying, different women, giving my body and life to the stress of life, all in the name of work and fun, and didn't even realize I was very sick inside of me.

I did not pause to check on my life, to examine it and reflect. Surely, if life had ended abruptly, I would not have been able to address the most important aspect of my life that required attention.

Playing dangerous games

There's a justification for stress, but I guess there's no justification for living mindlessly. However, doing both can lead to negative consequences.

When people put themselves under stress and fail to check to see how well their bodies and organs are working, they are already playing Russian roulette with their lives, and while some people are fortunate enough not to shut down, others are not so fortunate; some may suffer a heart attack and die.

That is it: no time to fix their finances, no time to care for their wives, husbands, or children, leaving them with no recourse in this cruel and difficult world.

1000607728.jpg

Sometimes I tell people that it is important to be aware of one's own physical and mental well-being and to take as many precautions as possible. This is not just for us; it is for those who will suffer from sadness, depression, and pain when we are gone.

Life is multifaceted, and the more we begin to see ourselves as part of a larger picture, magnifying the spectrum of life to see ourselves as one of billions of people, we will eventually stop living in our own minds.

I belong to a group of people on a subreddit, who suffers a chronic condition, and some days back, someone posted that they went to have fun and damned whatsoever consequences that should come with it. It was both funny and sad, but I realized that sometimes people will prioritize fun over consequences just to feel good for a short time.

This is how many people live their lives.

Mindlessly going until they can no longer go, no checks or balances, no trips to the doctor, no stopping to check the speed at which they are going, or simply taking a moment to reflect on life in the soberness of life's awareness.

This is not to say that having fun or being happy is bad.

My point is that people put themselves in needless situations without considering the potential consequences. At the end of the day, everyone will have to experience some unintentional stress.

This is actually justifiable, because we need money to stay afloat in this expensive world, however, it's important to always pause, take a break and let life temporarily continue without you, while you join later.

It’s just wild how normalized burnout has become

It’s scary how easy it is to ignore the signs mental, physical, spiritual....until something forces you to stop. And by then, sometimes it’s too late.

Your just reminded me of something I’ve been thinking about lately: "You can’t pour from an empty cup." We try so hard to keep up, to meet expectations, to keep others afloat....but if we don’t take that pause to recharge, to check in with ourselves, eventually we break down. And like you said, life won’t pause for that. It just keeps going. It's a new week and hope everything get better... Wishing you peace and healing as you navigate through the stress.

Kidney, liver, heart. These organs suffers because of stress, that's if the person doesn't already have commorbidities. I lost my father because of stress related complications. I didn't start learning about all these until I hit 30, and sadly I lost all of them already.

Stress really does take a heavy toll on the body....way more than people realize until it’s too late. Please don’t be too hard on yourself, though. You didn’t know back then, and you were doing the best you could with what you had. Sending you lots of love and strength. You’re not alone. 💛

Sometimes, I'm led to ponder why come this world only to experience the unfairness of life. Even when life decides to be fair to you, it's only but a short while.

Hmmm 🤔

The demands of life have led many persons to neglect their own well-being in the process of meeting these demand. It is a pity.

It is more pitiful that some people will put their lives at risk, just for some minutes of fun. Having fun is good, but one should put a pause first and weigh options first. Wisdom is profitable to direct.

Well, human beings, some of us just likes extreme fun, and we don't care the consequences it comes with. Sometimes we don't learn until these consequences starts causing us a lot of massive pain.

Life is good. I have learned from your post, the simplicity of life lol. So I can say you're living life to the fullest without making compromise

To me, that is crazy. At this age and time, I don't think that I can sacrifice my well-being on the altar of few minutes pleasure.

Aww, many thanks. I'm glad you found inspiration in the posts I share here. Simplicity can indeed be powerful and it makes living so fun and easy. It helps you focus on what truly matters, without chasing the winds. 😂

"life is a moving train heading for a collision; if you stay, you crash; if you jump off, you crash"

i like this quote, it's so true, you gotta pick what will give you more time...

i have this quote

the world doesn’t care whether you’re smiling or crying, tomorrow will come equally

stress is the problem of the new generations, it is becoming higher the more we move forward over time

i can understand the point of the reddit user, at a point one just goes screw it, but then when you face the consequences you will blame yourself, i gotta avoid too certain things,i miss them but when i think what would happen, immediately any desire fades away

I like your own quote equally. I guess what the two quotes have in common is that life will eventually go on regardless of anything. We're here for today, and life we go on, when we can't continue

As for stress, I think the 21st century even 2025 as we go, brings even more of these stress. Things gets more complicated, money becomes too hard to make.

Life just gets harder, even with all the technology and all that

0.00000046 BEE

There is a saying here "it was better when it was worse", meaning that we went forward with technology and such, but are we living better than like 50 years ago overall? Example, before here a family with 1 wage could buy house, buy a car, woman could stay at home and they even did 2 holidays per year, now it's impossible

it's important to always pause, take a break and let life temporarily continue without you, while you join later.

While reading through this was exactly what I had in mind to comment, not knowing that you would end your write up with it.

Sometimes we just really need to slow down and allow life to move ahead of us, while we take a breath. The rate at which young people collapse due to stress is just too alarming, all in the name of trying to meet up

0.00035160 BEE

Yeah, heart problem, stroke and all that. It's not just older people anymore. Life has become too stressful. I think people need to work extra hard to afford the things of life. In the 1980s it wasn't like this. You could do one simple job, buy a house and live well.

That's just unfortunate

Interesting reflection, my friend Josediccus. You see, I've been reading philosophical writings about Stoicism in recent years, and one of the lessons that has left a deep mark on me is that we suffer more in our thoughts, imagining scenarios or circumstances of what was or what will be, than in reality. This has helped me understand that what Western society currently calls stress are nothing more than challenges that fate places in our path to temper our character and learn from them. Whether we overcome them or fail, some lessons will remain, and that is valuable for overcoming new goals and challenges. Regards.

Well, for me, I don't want to overcome stress, I just want to be rid of it completely, and away from my life. It kills, and it destroys

Life indeed is like a moving train...it will never stop untill it reaches about a particular destination... thats how our life Is, that's why wen pipo go off or crash land the rest just find away to console themselves n move on, cause the train never stops, So we must be careful about ourselves, our health and what we take in...

0.00035089 BEE

Whether we jump or remain, it'll hit a collision at the end. That's why they say, no one makes it out alive lol.

0.00000000 BEE

Life has so many different things happening, and I honestly think its fine to have fun every now and then. However, not at the expense of your own health though.

0.00035054 BEE

Well, fun is good, it's just not ideal when it has to come with many consequences

0.00000000 BEE

Sometimes I also think that people are treating money as a GOD, as much as money you will have people will respect u.

0.00021011 BEE

well, that might be true in some situations

0.00000000 BEE

Honestly there's no pause button to life, it's best to live each day as it comes will doing your best with minimal pressure.

0.00020999 BEE

Minimal pressure indeed..

0.00000000 BEE

Indeed, life waits for no one, and we are all on this 'moving conveyor belt' as you described, but the painful truth is that many people don't realize they need to pause for a moment and reflect on themselves

Pausing is important
