I got the job.

IMG_3679.jpeg

So yesterday, I posted about sending a total stranger a job proposal and after hours of countless back and forth on what the job description should be like, and the terms and conditions and all the other details, this person finally agreed to give me an opportunity.

So I need to hit the ground running and prove that I have the skills to pull this off; it is an opportunity that can be extremely profitable, but it requires a lot of work in the short term.

I decided to text this person, half expecting them to respond, which they did. I didn't really think about having that much work on my hand. The amount of effort required will be enormous, but it is nothing I have not done before.

I relish the challenge, not because it's going to be easy, but I feel that I need to immediately prove that I can deliver. I passed the test, which proved that I could do the job, and I am pleased with that, but taking on so much responsibility feels strange, and it has been a long time since I have felt that way.

The last time I had a gig like this was ten years ago, and I decided to get back into the job market for a business opportunity that could be rewarding.

Could be

"Could" because the success of this deal is dependent on how smart and hard I can work; obviously, my partner has the resources and firepower, but they are useless if I cannot bring the necessary skills to make the deal a success.

We have talked about money, and I am completely comfortable with what this person is offering, but the money is not the issue; it is the fact that I need to work just as hard to make this deal a reality. It's a challenge I've accepted and I'm honestly relishing it.

The formalities associated with this job were quite stressful; it took over 3 hours to complete them, but I believe this was necessary because we needed to familiarize ourselves in order to establish a working relationship, which is critical.

Could be something

From texting a random stranger to discussing the job description and becoming fully acquainted with them. It feels unreal and just two days, we're here. As I previously stated, it is not a job that pays you regardless of your performance; rather, it is a job that rewards creativity and hard work, and I could still walk away with nothing if I am unable to deliver.

The next few weeks will determine how far I can go, and it will require a lot of effort from my end. My partner doesn't have the time, as she's got a lot to take care of. She is already doing her part by giving me the tools I need to make it happen, and I am guessing she will leave it with me.

It is terrifying at this point, but it is the dream opportunity I have been waiting for. I can not believe I am actually getting cold feet and scared, but I guess it is all the emotions of not knowing how it will all turn out. I will let you know how it turns out in a week or two.

Congratulations on getting a job! 🍻

It's good to hear that you're aware of your capabilities, and I'm sure you can pull this off... Wish you all the best! 💪

Thank you, yeah, I've never ever doubted, but then it still doesn't change the fact that it's going to be very challenging and I'm looking forward. Thanks for the kind words.

Awwwn! Congratulations 🎉

I think this feeling is normal, it often comes when you're on the verge of achieving something great.
Just believe in yourself because that belief alone is already a step toward success.
Wishing you good luck and prosperity✨

Thanks for your kind words. I don't know yet if it's going to be the beginning of something great, but I'm going to try my best to make it work.

I've been reading your posts for quite awhile now, and although I've never ever commented, I think this is one which one which definitely merits a congratulation. Far too many people moan about their lot in life but one should always take it upon themselves to make their own luck. As they say, fortune favours the bold. 👍

0.00075229 BEE

Well, I have moaned in the part about my genetic conditions and how it has limited me in life, but I try to take advantage of my strength and do what I can for myself and my family. Thanks for the kind words, I truly appreciate

Imposter syndrome. Don’t listen. You have this.

Thank you, it honestly feels scary and overwhelming, but I'll take my time, I know I've got this..

😆... getting cold feet now huh? 😆 🤣 😂....

I'm glad you got the job honesty it's an opportunity ...and a privilege as well,

Why you are probably getting cold feet is just cause it's been a while you handled such enormous task ... but since its something you're familiarize with. It will only take a couple of days and all the self courage you've got to pull it off and you also understand what is required of you and something like this could foster further gigs in the long run if you keep to your performance as you've said....

It happens. There are times where you unexpectedly get what you're hoping and praying for, suddenly you it comes sooner than expected and it feels strange. I got this gig at a very busy period in my life, but I'm learning to juggle everything, one day at a time. Thanks for the well wishes, I truly appreciate

All the best man...

0.00000000 BEE

Ahh! Jose.... The fact that you’re not focused on the money but on the execution speaks volumes. That’s builder mentality. You're not waiting to be paid to show up.... you’re showing up so you get paid. Big difference. That mindset is going to carry you through the long nights and the "what if" moments. Please keep us posted

Nice read as usual, thanks for sharing 🌹🤗

Yes, I'm actually not concerned about the money in the short term, and that's because of what I stand to gain when I eventually build the platform that my partner wants. It's barely 24 hours we've started and it's overwhelming, but like you've said, one has to build whatever they want to enjoy, and building is always the hardest part lol.

0.00001278 BEE

Yeahhh.... But I believe in my boss Jose. You can do it!!

Greetings @josediccus ,

Wishing you well in your new opportunity....I am very happy for you.

Here's a thought for you....if the job is not challenging at the beginning...it is possible that you would soon become bored....and that would be a different kind of challenge. ^__^

Thank you for letting us know.

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

0.00050452 BEE

I hope I don't become bored. It's the type of gig I have been hoping and praying for, although it's always tough, managing family duties and this type of jobs, but I'm grateful I got it.

This is good news! Best of luck for the rest of the challenge, be sure to sign some kind of paper... Who knows, maybe you could come to Europe in the future!

0.00050386 BEE

Hahaha Europe? That would be a dream, but for now, I can only hope. Also it might kind of limit my time spent on Hive as well

0.00000004 BEE

you gotta do what you think might be the best for you after all

0.00028778 BEE

Even the job you do everyday has it challenges so nothing good comes for free, the fact that you accepted the challenge is what will motivate you to overcome the challenge, the ability to make moves no matter how difficult.

0.00048242 BEE

Yes, most jobs comes with it's challenges, however some other jobs comes with more challenges, than the others.

0.00000000 BEE

I agree with you and some can be more tasking but I trust you can fit in.

0.00000000 BEE

I think you'll find a way to figure out how to deliver along the way as you gain more experience. What's more important is getting your foot on the door, congrats and I pray it works beyond your initial expectations :)

0.00047964 BEE

Yeah, I pray and hope it works out. It already feels so overwhelming at the moment but the idea to keep up the consistency and then gradually scale.

0.00003979 BEE

Scary? I can relate but you can do it Joe. The stress , the time factor and your family to look after are all there but the grace of God will see you through my brother

I hope you adapt as soon as possible

Congratulations

0.00047832 BEE

Thanks for the kind words. Lol, no matter how hard, the family has to feed, and we must find ways, it's hard but there's no option than to do it. I'm exhausted already lol, but there's no option.

0.00034087 BEE

Yeah, I'm definitely going to focus more, and reduce my time here on Hive, it's what it is, and I have no other options.

0.00000000 BEE
