Earlier today, my work partner and I were supposed to participate in a private token sale, but 30 minutes before the presale, the website went down, and everyone who qualified for the presale became bearish.
My partner was even more pessimistic because she cancelled a doctor's appointment and would pay a $400 fine for it, secondly she obtained permission from her 9-to-5 job to work from home for this sale, and thirdly, she worked extremely hard to secure this presale spot, spending money funding her EVM wallet. This presale was supposed to land her like $10k or maybe even more.
It just shows how the feeling or the emotion can quickly escalate into something else. Although my partner was able to enter the presale and secure a spot, the number of people who are currently backing the project as a result of the poor presale causes people to lose faith in the potential rewards of this project
. Now, these feelings of FUD indicate that the organizers of this sale performed poorly, but while these sentimental concerns are legitimate, the truth is that they are not completely legitimate enough to create a statement of fact that the project will fail. However, that is the lesson here.
The takeaway here is that crypto is very sentimental, and this sentiment can be contagious, which is why we have price pumping and dumps.
Sometimes these sentiments can be fake or real, but there are people who leverage on the ability to create FUD around a crypto project, they take advantage of this to spread or create a ripple of FUD which can grow like wildfire and make people scared.
Most FUD are people's personal opinions, which can be very honest, but opinions can cloud facts or what reality is supposed to be, and whether or not people realize it, it affects them, regardless of how mentally strong they are.
I saw how scared and disappointed my partner was; I know she gave a lot and sacrificed too much, and she also saw some information that made her even more bearish. Of course, she could have done with the $10k she could have earned from this; it could have been our first big win since we started working together, and she sacrificed so much to make this happen.
It was not that the FUD or fear of potential disappointment did not get to me, but I have seen so much FUD in my life, particularly in all aspects of my personal life, that you eventually learn to toughen up, no matter what. We cannot escape external and Internal FUD. Internal FUD can be more fair, but external FUD simply kills morale.
For example, a doctor examines a cancer patient and informs them, even without proper tests, that they will die in two months. It is "FUD* because they did not conduct adequate tests to confirm this, and the patient may die from depression rather than cancer.
This is just real-life FUD,
......and while the example I provided appeared scarier, believe me, it is not as scary as hearing that your crypto bag will not pump and you will end up as poor as you started. It happens in this space, on Hive, and everywhere there is a Blockchain-powered project.
There's nothing you can do about this noise, you'll continue to experience FUD, and it's going to get worst when you're on the wrong side of a situation. You can not fight it; sometimes you have to use mental shock absorbers to deal with it, and sometimes you just let yourself suffer and heal over time.
People can experience painful crypto situations, and they'll swear never to touch crypto again, but then they still go ahead to do that, after a long while. When it comes to crypto FUD, the only thing you can do is close your eyes and ears to chronic FUDers, because listening to them may cause you to question your own life choices.

Oh wow that was really bad situation, I think mostly due to the various sacrifices involved that pissed her off
In crypto fud is super easy, but not only in crypto, just look at Tesla, when musk went with Trump everyone was fudding Tesla, how it sucks, how it will fail, yet it's still here, doing home deliveries now
Well trump will continue to FUD Tesla lol. I think in the short run, it'll have consequences because some people might key into that FUD to actually sell any Tesla they own.
I see it everyday on Hive; people constantly fudding Hive.
