There is a difference between loving someone, acknowledging their beauty and whatnot and blatantly following your instinctual nature into loving someone who thinks otherwise about you or has their heart held by someone else.

Emotions are primal to us. They evoke a sense of being. And as strong as they are, they provoke all sought of manifestations. Whether that’s in the form of art, music, science etc. But such reoccurring good feelings are always combated with the worse. As with anything in life. With happiness there is sadness. With love there is hate/indifference, with compassion there is cruelty. For the most part they lead us towards the best versions of ourselves. But when the opposite happens, not much so to say the least.

Yearning for someone you have feelings for is a good feeling. Especially when you continuously go out of you way to make sure their secured or cared after one way or the other. But there is a thin line between yearning for someone and bleeding your heart out at the expense of your own mental, physical, financial or emotional wellbeing.

There are always hints that show very early that the person you pour love into doesn’t deserve your love. Yes it may not be as noticeable all the but time but it shows down the line. It’s in the way they communicate with you. The subtle indifference they portray towards you. Their lack of appreciation, empathy, compassion. These are often coupled with behaviours that are manipulative, destructive, selfish or just downright disoriented. Yes it’s true that these signs can be faint sometimes, But people who love unconditionally and waste their emotional energy with complete disregard of their “partners” true character and behaviour are unwise. The signs will show and it’s up to you to subside your emotions and properly reflect on the person you love and support.

Protect your mind, time and energy. It’s the most valuable asset a human being can have. If you choose to love someone else without properly analysing them and also loving yourself first, you’re brewing a bad omen for yourself but potentially those around you.
