There is one thing I fear the most. One thing I’ve always had a gut feeling of adversity too. And that’s laziness and not living up to what my parents expect of me
Every parents want their child to be successful. In our culture, laziness and arrogance is frowned upon as expected. Some children steer the opposite way becoming public enemies, fiends or criminals. But what prominently stands out as future threat is laziness. The incapability to adjust and effectively do what should be done. Laziness is a silent killer and it is more damning than people think it is.
When discipline begins to stall and laziness peeks its rear head. Things start to become increasingly worse. For some people this faulty attitude isn’t even notable. Things become poorly handled, corrections seem like disrespect and arrogance begins to take form. Excuses under the guise of reasonable justification start to become a habitual “getaway token” to avoid criticism, The accumulation of these traits can subtly change a persons character negatively.
Today, this attitude has become a common trend in many of our youths. This is due to many factors, most notably the advent of technology and AI. Many students resort to Artificial intelligence to create their essays and presentations even though many lecturers highlight such shouldn’t be tolerated in most cases. Too much comfort can also breed laziness if not accompanied with self discipline when necessary.
In addition to this, laziness is the most dire form of selfishness. Laziness has no consideration for what’s at stake, only for what can be conveniently done in the easiest way possible. Many lazy people find themselves at the opposite end of success and most aspects of health. A lot of them border along health issues and overt obesity. There is a reason why some obese people are all lazy. It’s their lazy nature that creates an inconsiderate attitude towards their health and lack of exercise. it’s their lazy nature that makes them choose platable food options instead of healthy ones.
Ultimately, Laziness is the epitome of selfishness and we must learn that to effectively achieve our health, academia, ambitions, etc we must not succumb to laziness.
