The Power of Healing Abilities in Splinterlands

(edited)

One of my favorite strategies in Splinterlands is using healing abilities and today I'm going to show you a battle where this type of strategy can be useful on several occasions.

Link to the Battle

This is the battle I'm talking about and the outcome of it can be difficult to predict because both players are using similar strategies, but mine is a little superior and I'll tell you why.

My strategy for the battle is simple, I used 3 that are a great combination for the Wands Out rule and I used the summoner Lily Shieldpaw because she is essential in this battle since there is the Equal Opportunity rule.

Wands Out - In this rule, players can only use monsters with magical attacks.

Equal Opportunity - In this rule, players receive the Opportunity ability, which means they will target the enemy monster with the lowest health.

Since the summoner Lily Shieldpaw grants the Camouflage ability to allied monsters, the Equal Opportunity rule won't be a problem since enemy monsters will target the monster positioned in the first position.

After protecting my backline, I needed a strong monster to protect the Frontline, and the Void Dragon is the perfect choice for the Wands Out rule because it has the Void ability and the Phase ability.

Void - This ability makes the monster only take half damage against magic attacks.

Phase - This ability makes the monster able to dodge magic attacks.

Now that I have a strong defense in the Frontline, I needed great monsters in the backline, and I decided to choose 2 that would be supports for the Void Dragon.

The monsters I selected for the backline were the Psychic Goblin and the Khmer Princess.

The Psychic Goblin has the Tank Heal ability, which means it will heal the Void Dragon once per round. The Psychic Goblin also has the Silence ability, which means it will decrease the enemy monsters' magic attack by -1. It also has the Affliction ability, which will be very useful for cutting off the enemy monsters' healing.

The Khmer Princess also has the Tank Heal ability, and she has the Triage ability, which will be very useful for healing my backline monsters.

This battle was "lost" from the beginning because neither side would be able to defeat the Void Dragon, so the only way would be to wait for the battle to reach Fatigue and one of the players to be defeated first.

Having the Psychic Goblin and the Khmer Princess was the right choice because the Psychic Goblin will cut off any healing that my opponent's Void Dragon can receive. The Khmer Princess, along with the summoner Lily Shieldpaw, will heal my backline monsters while the Psychic Goblin heals my Void Dragon.

At the end of the battle I emerged victorious and didn't lose any of my monsters, which is why having a good strategy is essential in Splinterlands and my opponent also had one, but mine was superior.
