Strategy for the Noxious Fumes Rule

Ever since I started playing Splinterlands again, I've noticed how strong Gladiator cards are and now that they can be used in ranked battles, getting them has become one of my priorities in the game since they will be very useful in my collection.

Today I was lucky enough to join a level 8 guild, so I'll get a bonus of up to 12% in my ranked battles starting in 7 days and I'll also be able to fight in Tier 3 Brawls since my guild has a level 5 arena, with this I'll increase my SPS earnings since Brawls reward players with SPS and I'll also be able to start my Gladiator card collection since I'll also earn Merits and be able to buy Gladius Cases in the guild store.

One of the cards I want the most is Quora Towershead because it's incredibly powerful and I can already imagine some good strategies for me to use with it.

In one of my recent battles in Splinterlands, my opponent used Quora Towershead in the battle and I found his strategy interesting.

Link to the Battle

This is the battle I was talking about and the strategy that caught my attention was how my opponent tried to take advantage of the Martyr ability to make his Quora Towershead more powerful in the battle.

For those who don't know the Martyr ability, the monster that has it will increase the Stats of adjacent monsters by +1 when it is defeated.

In this battle, my opponent used 2 monsters with the Martyr ability, the Fungus Flinger and the Venari Marksrat, both of which have Quora Towershead as an adjacent monster and this means that it can receive +2 to all of its Stats when these 2 cards are defeated.

To start with, this is a great strategy because for this battle, Quora Towershead will be the best chance of victory that my opponent will have because there is the Noxious Fumes rule, which means that all monsters will be poisoned and receive 2 damage at the beginning of each round. Quora Towershead has the ability Heal so she will be able to heal herself by 1/3 of her maximum life 1x per round and in the Noxious Fumes rule this is a great ability to have, she also has the ability Immunity which makes her immune to the Noxious Fumes rule and this only makes her even more perfect for battles with this rule. But even though it's a great strategy, mine is still better and for this battle I used a basic strategy of focusing on my damage and eliminating all of my opponent's monsters before mine were eliminated by the Noxious Fumes rule. Furthermore, my opponent's strategy didn't go as he wanted because I managed to defeat Quora Towershead quickly with my powerful attacks and she was only able to gain +1 Stats since Fungus Fingler was the only monster with the Martyr ability that was defeated while he was in the battle.

Although my strategy was better and a powerful attack was the best choice for this battle, I really liked my opponent's strategy and I can't wait to use it when I have Quora Towershead in my collection. Unfortunately, Gladiator cards are not tradable so they can't be bought or rented, so all I can do is wait to get merits in Brawls and opening Loot Chests until I finally manage to get a Quora Towershead in Gladius Cases.

Quora Towershead is an epic monster from the Gladiator edition, it has melee and magic attacks, its mana cost is 10 and it has a total of 4 abilities: Bloodlust, Heal, Immunity and Dispel.

Bloodlust - With this ability, Quora Towershead will gain +1 to all of its Stats when it performs the final attack on an opponent's monster.

Heal - With this ability, Quora Towershead will heal itself by 1/3 of its maximum life 1x per round.

Immunity - With this ability, Quora Towershead will be immune to all magic debuffs and will also be immune to the Cripple ability.

Dispel - With this ability, Quora Towershead will remove all magical buffs from the monster she attacks.

In my opinion, this is one of the best gladiator cards and even at level 1 it is already incredibly powerful and will be of great help in achieving my goal, which is to reach the Champion league.
