Opening My First Packs in Splinterlands

When I started playing Splinterlands in 2022, I always wanted to buy packs to build a card collection, but at that time the game was still at its peak and asset prices were very expensive, so I always stuck to my strategy of renting cards to play in ranked battles. This strategy was simpler and safer since asset prices were also volatile, and if you consider the current price of cards, then I made the right decision.

Since I had never opened any card packs in Splinterlands before, with the exception of the Nightmare packs from Soulkeep, but those don't count because they belong to another game, I decided to open some Chaos Legion packs to see what it would feel like.

Currently, the prices of cards from the Chaos Legion edition are very low, and although I want to experience the feeling of what it would be like back then, opening the packs probably won't be as exciting, but I'm sure that if I get a Gold Foil legendary card, I'll jump for joy even if the value isn't hundreds of dollars like it used to be.

To buy the Chaos Legion packs, I went to Hive Engine because that's where these packs are at the lowest price and I paid 0.799 Swap.Hive for each pack.

After buying the packs, I just need to transfer them to my account and to do that, I just need to go to the OPEN option on the Splinterlands website and select the transfer section in the pack I want.

Just choose Hive-Engine for In Game and transfer the packs, they will appear in your account in a few seconds.

Don't forget to use Alchemy Potions and Legendary Potions when opening the packs, they will help you increase your chances of getting Gold Foil cards and Legendary cards.

Alchemy Potion - This potion increases the player's chances of getting Gold Foil cards by opening packs or chests.

Legendary Potion - This potion increases the player's chances of getting legendary cards by opening packs or chests.

It wasn't what I expected because I didn't get any Gold Foil or legendary cards even though I used the potions on all the cards, but I have to admit that it's fun to open packs and there's always that excitement while you're opening them that at any moment the card could start to shake and a Gold Foil legendary card could appear, but from this experience I've had opening the packs and that I've seen with many other players, this isn't the best strategy for building a collection and if I were to build one I would choose to buy the cards on the market because I won't depend on luck.
