My Strategy for Armored Up and Briar Patch Rules

(edited)

In my battles in Splinterlands I always take the rules into consideration because they make a big difference in the outcome of the battle and in today's post I will show you which strategy I use when the Armored Up and Briar Patch rules are used in the battle.

Link to the Battle

This is the battle I will use as an example and as you can see there are 3 rules in it, they are Armored Up, Close Range and Briar Patch. Let's start by talking about how these rules work in the battle.

Armored Up - In this rule all monsters in the battle will gain +2 armor. The armor will be useful to defend the monsters from melee and ranged attacks, these 2 types of attacks will only be able to cause damage to the monster's life when the armor is destroyed.

Close Range - In this rule, all monsters will gain the Close Range ability, which means that monsters with ranged attacks will be able to attack in the first position.

Briar Patch - In this rule, all monsters will gain the Thorns ability, which means that when they receive damage from a melee attack, they will deal 2 physical damage to the monster that caused melee damage.

The strategy I used is focused on the Armored Up and Briar Patch rules, and it works in a simple way. As you can see, all my monsters have magical attacks, and I selected them because magical attacks do not receive damage from the Briar Patch rule and will also directly attack the health of my opponent's monsters since they ignore armor.

This may be a simple strategy, but it works very well in these rules. I could also use monsters with ranged attacks, since they will not suffer from the Briar Patch rule, but in my opinion, it is not advantageous because in order to deal damage to the health of my opponent's monsters, they will need to destroy the shield first, so monsters with magical attacks are better in these rules.

My basic strategy is to use monsters with magic attacks, now I will show you which monsters I selected.

Let's start with the summoner, which in this case is Quix the Devious.

Quix the Devious - This is a summoner from the dragon deck and it will decrease the speed and ranged attack of my opponent's monsters by -1. Since there is a Close Range rule, it is common for my opponents to use monsters with ranged attacks, so this debuff is very useful, but this time my opponent did not choose any monster with ranged attacks, so it was not useful, but it will still be useful to decrease the speed of my opponent's monsters.

Void Dragon - I selected this monster because it has a high chance of dodging attacks, in addition to that it also only receives half magic damage and can also dodge magic attacks, so it is a great choice for this battle.

Djinn Muirat - I selected this monster because it will be a great defense after Void Dragon since it has a lot of life and also the Void Armor ability that makes the armor capable of defending against magical attacks, so to cause damage to Djinn Muirat my opponent will need to destroy his armor first. Djinn Muirat also has the ability Magic Reflect which means that it will cause part of the magical damage back to the monster of my opponent that attacked it with a magical attack.

Venari Bonesmith - I selected this monster because it has the ability Poison which means that it has a 50% chance of poisoning the enemy monster when it hits and poisoned monsters receive 2 damage at the beginning of each round. Venari Bonesmith also has the ability Life Leech which makes it gain based on the damage it causes.

Revealer - I selected this monster because it has the ability Stun, which means it has a 50% chance of Stunning the monster it attacks. Stunned monsters are unable to attack or use abilities.

Chaos Dragon - I selected this monster because it has a high chance of dodging attacks, just like the Void Dragon. It also has the ability Blind, which gives enemy monsters a +15% chance of missing attacks.

Corpse Fiend - I selected this monster because it was week and its mana cost is 0. It doesn't have any very important function, it will only defend the backline against monsters that have the ability Sneak or Opportunity.

With this strategy, I have a great defense, a great attack, and a great chance of dodging my opponent's monsters. In addition, I am not affected by any of the rules and I still use them to my advantage.

My opponent also thought of a similar strategy and used most of his monsters with magic attacks, but my monsters are stronger and more useful, so even after several rounds my opponent was unable to defeat any of my monsters and I emerged victorious.

How many magicians does it take to pull a rabbit out of a hat?
One. It's a trick question.
