I was looking for new strategies in Splinterlands and I remembered a card that I used a lot in my battles in the past, this card is the Gelatinous Cube and despite many new cards having been released and many new strategies having been created, the Gelatinous Cube is still an excellent card and I decided to test it in a battle after a long time.
In the battle my strategy is "Simple" and the Gelatinous Cube's function will be to act as a tank when my monster Harklaw is defeated and when this happens some monsters on both sides will have already been defeated and the Gelatinous Cube's Scavenger ability will have been activated a few times and it will receive more life.
Now I will give an overview of my cards and their functions.
The Harklaw Monster, which is positioned in the first position, will be my main tank card in this battle. It will receive less physical damage because of its Shield ability, it will decrease the enemy monsters' melee attack by -1 because of its Demoralize ability, and it will be immune to magic debuffs and Cripple because of its Immunity ability.
The Gelatinous Cube Monster will be my secondary tank and it will be able to gain +1 life for each monster that is defeated in the battle and it will be able to heal itself by 1/3 of its life 1x per round.
The Silent Sha-Vi monster will be one of my main sources of damage and will target my enemy's monster positioned in the last position.
The Sand Worm monster will also be one of my main sources of damage and, like the Silent Sha-Vi, it will target my enemy's monster positioned in the last position.
The Uraeus monster will also be one of my main sources of damage and, like Silent Sha-Vi and Sand Worm, it will target my enemy's monster in the last position. It will also be able to poison my enemy's monsters when attacking.
The Cursek Windeku monster will be my backline defense. It will not be able to attack, but it will be a great defense because it will be able to heal itself by 1/3 of its maximum life once per round and will also cause damage against melee attacks with its Thorns ability.
My strategy is to focus on my opponent's backline since these monsters have fewer lives and are easier to defeat. Meanwhile, I will protect my backline with Cursed Windeku and my frontline with Harklaw and Gelatinous Cube. This way, my Silent Sha-Vi, Sand Worm and Uraeus monsters will be protected and free to attack.
This was my main strategy but it didn't go as I wanted because my opponent had 2 monsters with the Opportunity ability so my Silent Sha-Vi, Sand Worm and Uraeus monsters weren't protected but it wasn't a problem because they were still able to perform many attacks before being defeated and fulfilled their mission which was to cause damage.
At the end of the battle I went to my strategy B which was the reason I chose the Gelatinous Cube as my secondary tank. Since the Gelatinous Cube has the Scavenger ability which increases its life by +1 after a monster is defeated, this means that it will have a lot of life in the battle and since it has the Heal ability then it will be able to heal itself by 1/3 of its maximum life.
My plan B was to take the battle to Fatigue and win it with the help of the Gelatinous Cube healing itself every round, this strategy is old but it seems that even in the current Splinterlands it is still very useful and thanks to it I was able to win the battle.
I believe my opponent must have been very angry with this defeat and despite it being a "dirty" strategy it is still very fun to win with it.
