A Powerful Defense against Melee and Ranged Attacks

Having a good defense is essential in Splinterlands and when that is the subject there is a card in the life deck that I really like to use in my battles, this card is the Shieldbearer and in this post I will talk about how it will be useful for you.

The Shieldbearer is a monster from the Untamed edition that belongs to the life deck, its main focus is defense but it is also a great option to cause damage because at higher levels it has a lot of attack power.

The Shieldbearer has a lot of health and armor, for this reason it is a great choice to defend in battles, but what really makes it special are its abilities, they are Taunt, Shield and Return Fire.

Taunt - This ability makes the Shieldbearer the main target of enemy attacks, especially when it is in the first position because then it will receive the attack of all enemy monsters, the only exception is the attack of monsters that have the Scattershot ability because they attack randomly.

Shield - This ability makes the Shieldbearer only receive half damage against physical attacks, this means that monsters with melee or ranged attacks will only cause 50% damage to the Shieldbearer.

Return Fire - This ability makes the Shieldbearer return 50% of the ranged damage received, this means that if a monster with ranged attacks the Shieldbearer then this monster will receive 50% of the damage it caused to the Shieldbearer as damage.

I remember that in the past I used to hate facing the Shieldbearer and most of the battles I faced ended up being a defeat for me and I didn't have it in my collection because the price to buy and rent it were very expensive in the past, but nowadays I can rent the Shieldbearer at maximum level for less than 5 DEC daily and this value surprises me because it is very low for a useful card like it.

For those who invested in old edition cards, their current price must be very disappointing, but for more recent investors this is good news because we can obtain these cards by paying an extremely low price, especially in the rental part, so I'm happy that Shieldbearer's price is cheap because I can easily rent it and add it to my strategies.

One of my favorite strategies for using Shieldbearer is when there is the Lost Magic rule, so Shieldbearer will be even more incredible in battle because the Shield ability and Return Fire will be even more useful because there will be no cards with magic attack in battle.
