Hello there! It's great to be participating in this contest again. It's always a pleasure to share my participation in this contest. And I'm glad to be sharing my entry to this wonderful initiative. Hope you find the shots attractive and worth looking at.
So, it's red this time. Seeing this, I knew it would be a good one. Red has been a major colour; provoking a lot of emotions and feelings with its appearance. The colour is associated with various and several emotions and connotations.
For one, it's strongly associated with romance and passion. Of course, you see red everywhere on Valentine's Day; in the celebration of that loved one from their partner. It also symbolises or expresses energy and excitement. This is one of the things that the red colour oozes when it's employed in a scene. When it comes to the indication and caution of danger, red is the colour. Its visibility and elusive quality make it useful for this; stop signs, warning signals and traffic lights.
At one point, red seemed to be like a favourite colour of mine. Maybe because of its elegance and the energetic character that oozes from the colour. Anything coated in the red colour is viewed with this like, and bias admiration from me. I mean, it's a colour that speaks a lot with its appearance. Today, it still counts as one colour I like, for some reason.
As I try to find items or objects with the colour red, getting some wasn't a big deal. For the lovers of Coca-Cola drinks, we know the crates are mainly red. There was a crate of the drinks lying around in a corner, which was a good subject.
There's this red cap as well. It's a very nice cap, which isn't mine. Though I like the colour red, when it comes to fashion and things like caps, it isn't an option I would often go with. There was also this “tanker” as we call it around here. It's meant to transport refined crude oil used to power vehicles.
Then there was this container. Containers are used for storage and shipping or moving goods. This one seemed to have had the good offloaded already. The doors seemed to be open. For some reason, I find that many containers are red.
Finally, the UBA (United Bank for Africa) signpost. This is one of the main banks where I reside. Many people around here use the bank. I've always admired the use of red and white employed as its brand colours. Somehow, when I see red and white in a building, the bank comes to mind.
Red is a nice, wonderful and energetic colour. Did I mention the fact that it's also a feared colour because of its use in fetish and diabolic purposes? Different groups have used it in this sense for their identification. However, it's a nice colour, and I guess they were just riding on the advantage of its energetic quality.
